Why does Superman have a red outline around his arse? Is he actually wearing slightly smaller blue underpants over his old red ones? There's modernization for you folks...

I buried my hamster in that graveyard.

Pretty good art; still not buying it- can't afford it.

Been reusing disposable diapers for my baby son for months
just to afford 'The Incredible Hulk' CB.

Everytime I see that suit, I get internal bleeding. I especially don't like that both Jonathan and Martha are dead. What was the purpose? I see that he's protecting humanity but it doesn't feel the same as before the reboot.

This suit doesn't make any sense, it looks different in every panel. What's the point of recreating a suit if you don't keep it consistent?

Art looks a little better though I like that last panel on the third page.

Yeah this costume is dumb, he still has underpants but they are blue. I don't knw if its a mistake but I noticed that Jim Lee put underpants on Batman and Green Lantern when he drew the pic that has the whole League standing in a row.

I feel DC made a mistake by killing off the Kents already, a good story could have come out of the loss and emotions Clark would have had to go through. Should have built them up as lovable characters then torn them down!

As for Perez all those words just to say Superman failed to save 2 people, who even speaks like that.
AC1
AC1 - 11/17/2011, 1:31 PM
so are the Kents dead in Action Comics as well? Because if they are they really missed something which could've been special, you know? As @breakUbatman said, they couldve used the emotions Clark feels as his parents die for a really breathtaking story. It could've been the transitionary period in this new mythos; while in Action Comics Superman seems to be a bit cocky and show-off-ish with his powers, their deaths could've been the kick up the arse he needed to take things seriously. The 'present day' post Action Comics costume could be his way of showing the world he's serious about his duties, and could be a result of his grief, as he's trying to move on.

its really bad im sure there were other designs but if this was the one good one then jesus what the hell are they been smoking?? iv seen plenty of other designs that look a hell of a lot better what ever bright spark decided on this one needs to have a rethink as to how the hell they dress

I agree with most. Killing both Kents, the outlined 'shorts,' the collar, and, most especially, the Smallville t-shirt with cape are big and needless mistakes. His parents/mother are the remaining anchors to humanity before he gets hitched to Lois.

God forbid DC would allow Clark any true emotional attachments. Kill his parents (both sets), Krypto dead, and Rags makes him ugly so we don’t even get to like his character even on a superficial level.

And the turtle neck armour with s shield shapes everwhere (really, on the tip of the sleeves????) sucks

YOU KNOW I LOOKED AT THE COLLAR AND THOUGHT" WHY A COLLAR ISN'T HE INVINCIBLE? IS HE AFRAID HE'LL CATCH A COLD OR SOMETHING?" AND THE SEEMS..IF SOMETHING HAS STOOD THE TEST OF TIME FOR HOW MANY GENERATIONS...LEAVE IT ALONE.

Although it hasn't been covered in the books yet, I think DC said in some release that Superman's costume is supposed to be reminiscent of the dress worn by Kryptonian. That said, the "arse outline," the collar and the little diamond shapes on his wrist are all too much.

Like every new design by Jim Lee...it's too busy, too much, and all in the wrong place. Lee's a great artist, but they needed an actual DESIGNER to work w/him.
marvelguy
marvelguy - 11/19/2011, 11:27 AM
MrEko,

I'm glad you see my overall point. His parents' being his parents, authority figures, confidants, and his living reminder of his core human/Midwest values is a terrific dynamic. He needs the release of talking to someone about his life as Superman who is not always in the line of fire, nor superhuman.

The costume is not an improvement--the more I see it.
