EDITORIAL: EXCELLENT EPISODE OF THE FLASH HEROES VS. ALIENS CROSSOVER!

Now that's how a crossover episode is suppose to be done! Finally us fanboys and girls can see our geek culture fantasies jump from the pages of a comic book to the TV screen!

I'll make this brief.  There were so many smiles and instant rewinds from last nights episode of The Flash it was KRAYZE!  The Barry storyline about the Barry recording from Legends coming to a head on The Flash, Supergirl's interactions with everyone, Barry comic face to face with the extended team members about the follies of his time traveling, the fight scenes, all EXCELLENT!  THIS WAS STRAIGHT OUT OF A COMIC BOOK!  I totally loved how they chapterized(just like a comic book) the story so when we see Arrow tonight we'll get his perspective of events with them trapped on the alien ship.  The transitional crossover is so something you would read in a comic it has me giddy!  The CW is so lucky they can do this and fully take advantage because it's all on one newtwork.  This has never been done before on a super hero level(sure the Chicago series on NBC crossover all the time but who on here is watching those Dick Wolf shows consistently?).

TV has such an advantage over movies when it comes to these sort of things.  While the budget is limited with the FX in TV it's totally made up for the interweaving of storylines within the shows that totally payoff that the movies have a tough time duplicating because we dont have to wait a year or two to complete a storyline.  How long have we been waiting for this MCU vs. Thanos battle in the Avengers movies?  Forever! After so many years teasing it BETTER BE FRAGGIN EPIC!  And as far the DCEU they are just starting and judging by the first couple of movies they are going to have a LOOONG road ahead of them if they dont figure out their exact direction.

This is a great time, my fellow fanboys and girls, to be living in with all this geek culture come to life on TV and in film!  Sure it can be better but compared to how it was 20 years ago I never thought it could reach these levels to satisfy by geek thirst.  Appreciate it and keep it coming Marvel and DC!!!

worst VFX ever, seriously, is a very childish script and unnecessary pseudo Civil War

@Fanmar16 - @Fanmar16 - The vfx were handled old school, instead of paying for the most impressive effects available, the camera just did not spend a lot of time focusing on the effects. As scary villains, the Dominators work. See aliens on flash, was very welcome even if the special effects budget was imperfect.

What made the show very good wasn't special effects. What the show delivered was Flash and Supergirl together again, which was very good, although from the trailers, I thought that would come Monday night. The characters seriously bonded and seriously in the previous episode, and we believed that Supergirl trusted Flash, much more than his teammates trusted him. Many fans thought Worlds Finest was among the best Supergirl episodes ever (if the pinnacle of Supergirl), and this is a strong sequel to that episode.

I hope the next two episodes have similar quality. I think fans who expected a lot from Mondays episode were largely disappointed. Aside from lacking Barry, the story hinged on characters and issues that were not really developed. The Maggie, Alex story wasn't interesting enough to justify its screen time. The episode was average quality Supergirl, when many fans were hoping for the start of a crossover event.

I suppose, if you are watching these shows strictly for special effects, the Arrowverse shows never were that exceptional, because they never had that many viewers. It was always an effort to develop dc characters in detail, in a world with very deadly villains. Supergirl started with a 3 million per episode budged, but if there was anything that amazing about its FX I couldn't tell you what, and it will never have that budget again.

I hope the next two episodes are as spectacular as yesterdays episode.
