Many thanks to Comic Book Resources for the following.

DC Comics Co-Publisher and penciller on the new “Justice League” title Jim Lee spoke with CBR TV at Comic-Con International in San Diego to discuss the excitement and challenges of illustrating the Dc Universe’s premier super team, the process of starting small with a focus on Batman and Green Lantern before expanding to the planned fifteen-member roster.

Lee also discusses his excitement at working for the first time with longtime friend Geoff Johns on the title, the differences in illustrating a team book instead of a solo character like Batman and the motivation of having a hard deadline due to DC’s new “day and date” policy for releasing digital versions of their titles.

The pressure Lee felt while working on the designs of the revamped characters was also discussed, from both an artistic and business point of view, his artistic process for his “Justice League” work and the effect the world of digital comics has had on storytelling in comics.

Lee’s X-Men are also a topic of discussion due to Marvel’s new, remastered re-issue of the creator’s classic mutant-centric work before shifting back to the DC relaunch in September, with his and Johns’ “Justice League” leading the way in August.

I like Cyborg on the Justice League. Like I said before Cyborg has been in the Teen Titans for years and its about time he gets some shine. Not to mention that Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman always expressed how much they wanted Cyborg on the JLA.

@Dev7 This so called "lame" comic book company helped paved the way for other comicbook companies and have been entertaning people for years.

I'm not sure how to feel about this. He Worked on Hush witch is one of my favorites. I personally think Jim has talent especially when teamed up with Jeph Loeb. But I'm nervous about this re launched Justice league. The Whole Batman Green Lantern interactions could be good if done right. Hal and Bruce could make for some good dialogue.

My biggest worry for this reboot is Superman's orgin. Ma and Pa Kent were a huge part of Supermans mythos and now they are not in this universe. But they have Grant Morrison on that so it should not be too bad.

@Dev7 Wow dude I understand if you prefer another company but DC/Action Comic deserves respect. I prefer DC over Marvel but I enjoy there comics though and have so much respect for Lee and Kirby. Just like you should for Siegal Shuster and Kane among others. As a fan of comics I dont hope for the failure of either major brand. Whats good for one is good for the other.

Jim Lee is a less douchey version of Todd McFarlane.

I heard that they were making new Teen Titan comic's. Is Cyborg not gonna be in them? That would suck!

Cyborg was my favorite character on the Teen Titans show... Can't wait to see him in the big leagues now.

Also Jim Lee is one of my favorite artists and his style is one of my favorite ways to see Superman and Batman drawn.

@cartman87 Barry Allen is the worst Flash? Are u serious? He was on the bench for a long time, but that's no reason to shit on him. If there is a worst it's definitely Bart. (having him grow up was a huge mistake)

@NOBO82 - Ignore them buddy, you hit the nail on the head. Jim Lee's art was for kids only, the guy can't draw anatomy without making an average person look like they've spent a life time in the gym. All his women look like insanity with ridiculous feet and the same hip-slant EVERY FREAKING TIME! There was a time years ago he tried to change this joke of a style and started copying the Master Frank Miller when he started on the Deathblow series, but the guy still couldn't get past his overuse of cross-hatching lines and exploding muscles and rib cages!

When people start talking about artists and pick out base illustrators like this who NEVER even grasped the basics of art enough to be able to draw different face structure or even expressions, you simply have to laugh. Every character he draws simply has the same cheek and chin structure be it male or female, his art is based on drawing lots of lines and muscles, kids stuff!

The guys sold out Wildstorm to DC and once again a bunch of better conceived comic characters gets swallowed up into a tired universe of dumb superheroes who simply can't be reinvented enough to make any sense in this day and age no matter how many times they die and come back to life again.
