Sorry guys. I imagine that's how I'd be feeling now too if I were in your shoes. There's always the chance it will fail miserably and they'll decide to go back to the way things are.

@supersaiyanfan1, I think you should at least give some graphic novels a try. Even most trade paperbacks aren't too hard to pick up and read since the story is pretty self-contained.

wasn't earth one essentially meant to be DC's version of earth one, some thing that "updated" and made the heroes "younger" like they did with Superman, and Looks like the same things being done to Batman Earth One(which Geoff Johns is writing.) I thought they were created to bring in "new" readers. Just weird I can understand updating characters but getting rid of the past of the DC universe is just weird, I honestly do feel sorry for DC fans. But I guess we'll have to wait and see how the new stories are. If there good then they'll just create a new legacy.

Marvel better not do a reboot, maybe some new heroes can be introduced but if they reboot it aswell they can go and [frick] off. I don't mind changing the status quo of characters and books, don't even mind changes to the costumes but completely erasing there past is moronic (yes Joe Q, you are a moron for the shit you did to spidey, although there were some pretty decent story lines post BND)

i think rebooting is like admitting that your universe is horribly flawed.

which is a shame. Individually, DC has some very good books. But as a complete continuity and universe, the world is very convoluted. DC reboots very often, and it usually goes back to the status quo in time.

Marvel has done the same thing though, just look at Heroes Reborn...

@supersayianfan1, Ok, cool. I don't blame you. It can get to be a lot of work following multiple series monthly.

@CorndogBurglar, I was thinking about that Heroes Reborn thing. Didn't they pretty much decide it was a bad idea and undo it?

@ bigbmh

yeah, lol. Heroes Reborn was so bad that they went back to their old numbering and forgot the reboot ever happened. and it was only like 4 or 5 issues into it too, lol.

Ok here we go......I hope everyone is prepared for when MOS comes out in 2012 and Supes doesnt have his pants on. Here is my conspiracy theory.....ALL OF THIS IS HAPPENING BECAUSE OF THE LAWSUIT THAT WB IS IN WITH SHUSTER AND SEIGEL. IF THEY GOTTA CHANGE SUPERMAN THEN WHY NOT JUST CHANGE EM ALL??? THERES MY THEORY. its BS. i hope this only lasts a year and doesnt effect the MOS movie coming out...but i have a feeling that it will and then we will see how many people disapprove of the uniform that BRANDON ROUTH put on. I would much rather see the RETURNS suit again than a auit that has a COLLAR and no UNDIES....

@JM4Superman and anyone else saying similar things -
Everything you have been reading in the last 5 years is gone. Since the end of Infinite Crisis. And now, at least you get the beginning, which - with the exceptipon of the Secret Origins minis - has been missing from New Earth continuity. In only 6 years you will have more of a loyalty to the post-flashpoint New Earth than to the pre-flashpoint New Earth and there will be an actual starting point to read from.

Nice vid @BIGBMH!
I feel this reboot is unnecessary, if DC wants to attract more readers, I think they should focus on getting their movies and cartoons out there for everyone to see

Thanks Dane. Hopefully Green Lantern does well so they're more willing to do movies for their non-Superman/Batman characters. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the ony other DC universe character that has ever gotten a major movie Jonah Hex? That one didn't even turn out well.

Yeah, and it SUCKED!
I'm hoping DC and everyone pulls through on GL so we will eventually be able to see Flash, Hawkman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Justice League, and all of DC's other great heroes on screen.
All we can do is cross our fingers and hope for the best!
Although I do think Green Lantern will do very well!

@DukeAcureds I think you're wrong about how I'm going to feel about the post flashpoint New Earth, I've been reading comics from DC for 14 years and followed the stories. All I'm saying is that it does not make sense to erase and relaunch everything.
BIGBMH
BIGBMH - 6/1/2011, 1:35 PM
From my understanding, even in the past when they've done reboots, it hasn't erased everything teway it seems this is going to.
DukeAcureds
DukeAcureds - 6/1/2011, 2:04 PM
What I'm saying is that they HAVE erased everything with all the other reboots, but they have also kept everything the way it was just before the reboot. This causes so much confusion, because the books have no official history in comic format for fans, - new and old - to read. Then they cherry-pick plot points from past comics that take place in previous universes and it actually makes it more convoluted than before the reboot. Crisis was meant to make things simpler. But they were simpler before, on Earth 2 and Earth 1.
Just for example: If you were reading Batman (doesn't matter if you were reading it before Infinite Crisis or not) and you wanted to start at the beginning, what would you read? Year One? Is that in-continuity? It was Post-Crisis, but then it wasn't in continuity Post-Zero-Hour. Has anyone at DC ever said what is in fact in-continuity? And let me ask you this: If you wanted to read about the adventures of Batman and the Dick Grayson version of Robin on New Earth, what would you read? The Golden Age comics? I don't think so. They acknowledge that all this stuff has taken place in the past but it is a past we don't know about. Imagine if Chris Nolan sequeled Batamn Begins with a book similar to Batman And Son or Batman RIP (which were the big stories after Infinite Crisis), with all the characters and their histories but with no explanation how we got from Batman Begins to that. And at least he gave us an origin.
So, @JM4Supes, you might have been reading for 14 years, but only 5 of those years count as canon. The rest may or may not. No one at DC will ever tell you.

BIGBMH - 6/1/2011, 2:53 PM
@DukeAcureds, I get what you're saying. It seems that every time they do this, it just creates more confusion and screws their universe up even more.
