Geoff Johns and artist Francis Manapul are taking the reins of the new FLASH ongoing series next year. They will take the mythology further in March with "The Flash: Secret Files and Origins." It's a one-shot that leads up to a creative team taking over "The Flash" series, which already looks like one of the most promising runs of 2010.

This is the first finalized image being released by DC:

From LA Times blog, The Hero Complex:
These are big-time days for comic-book writers, and right now no one is bigger than Geoff Johns. The 36-year-old Detroit native picked up the Scream trophy for best comic-book writer. This year, Johns wrote the six-issue miniseries "The Flash: Rebirth," which chronicled the return of Barry Allen, the original Flash.

From Dogs Of War:
The big question I have is will this revive a DC live action movie?

The Flash could be an epic movie! The only thing they have to figure out is showing super speed without it always being a blur. Maybe work in some Matrix style effects

A Flash movie is well needed. Imagine this, make it a trilogy with Captain Cold in the first movie, introduce Kid Flash and Gorilla City in the second, and boom! third movie with the Rogues Gallery.

What are they going to do with Wally???

Hes a better Flash than Barry.

They better not just throw him into a Team Book, how they did with Kyle Rayner.

Rayner was the ONLY GL for over a decade!!!

Then they screwed him and threw him into Green Lantern Corps monthly book.

Wally will probably end up being the new leader of the Titans. Or JL.

I don't know about Wally going back to Titans. Wally, with the new (and I guess better?) suit going on, I can see him teaming up with Inertia, Impulse, ect. on a monthly speedster book. Blackest Night is confusing, I mean, I have this weird feeling that Barry is gonna sacrifice himself AGAIN just to end all the zombie rage.
