COMICS: Cover For NEW AVENGERS #24 Shed's New Light On Upcoming AvsX Event

Looks like we have a glimpse of the dividing lines for the upcoming Avengers vs X-Men event thanks to New Avengers #24. It's Cap, Cyk, and Wolvie foreshadowing what's to come!

From this cover, it appears that Cap will lead The Avengers against Cyclops' team of X-Men, with Wolverine and the Jean Grey School For Higher Learning caught in the middle or possibly playing peacemaker? Wolverine as peacemaker? No wonder this brawl is happening, I imagine Logan's mediation strategy is to just knock everyone out so they can't argue (which sounds like a damn good comic).

"This April, as the flames of war are stoked by the impending arrival of the Phoenix Force, the New Avengers have received the call to arms by Captain America to go to war against the X-Men. Except where does the loyalty of Wolverine lie? Find out in New Avengers #24 from the blockbuster creative team of Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Deodato!"

Cyclops is my favourite X-Man, but Cyke's right hook VS Cap's left hook... Cap will definitivly be the winner of this fight.

Thats a very interesting fight but the artist needs to work on his perspective because Cyclops looks bigger than Cap.

Strange that cap calls them to war against the x men

@Quasimodo.....I think Cap doesn't declare war on them, I believe its Cyclops who wants to cause chaos. From what has been said is that Cyclops doesn't want Hope to side with the humans, he wants her to lead the revival of the mutant race, back to the way it was after the events of M-Day. My guess something happens that causes Cap to retaliate by gathering the Meta-humans to go up against the X-men and the various X teams.

i wanna see cyke rule some ass. I hope at one point and time cyke leads x-force. Its time for marvel to make him more of a general and less of a boyscout.

@ComicCritic87 I agree. He's already initiated a few scraps with them. I feel that the aggression begins with the X-Men, and the Avengers are simply retaliating.

@PoPcornDude In this case, it seems appropriate. Wolverine's torn between the two groups and hates Cyclops as much as I do.

I can't wait to see this all play out.

Good match stat wise. But Cap is physically superior to him in so many ways.

Cyke 6'3 195. (Personally he should be like 210-220)

Cap 6'2 220-240 (depending on writer, generally 240)

Cyke- Super Concussive blast that can destroy nearly any earth substance.

Cap- Unbreakable Shield with the reflexes to react to close range projectiles.

Cyke- Expert Strategist and Combatant with a skills in systems such as Aikido.

Cap- Expert Combatant and Strategist with Mastery in Numerous Earth Styles and training in Martial Arts From Other Worlds.

Cyke- Super-Spacial Awareness, granting him the ability to ricochet his optic blast and find his way around unfamiliar places.

Cap- Super-Human Senses and reflexes coupled with Combat skills and a Mastery of a very Unique Shield, grants him the ability to Ricochet it off walls, for his desired results.

Cyke- The Definitive Leader of the X-Men, X-Factor and other X-Groups throughout time.

Cap- The Definitive Leader of the Avengers, Invader & other Groups throughout time. He has lead the Howling Commandos, SHIELD and numerous Platoons and soldiers in WW2.

Cyke- Trained his body to Olympic Athlete levels and Beyond.

Cap- Has been transformed to the Peak Athletic level of a Human Being. His feats far surpass any Olympic Record ever set. He is in the lower Superhuman Level.

^^^^ Good Match

cap winning is way too predictable so i hope cyke wins. it would be a nice curve ball and finally give cyke the respect he deserves
adamcawa

@ luckylu

Over the last five years, Cyclops has been shown as by far the most powerful X-Men member. Most recently, he went toe to toe with Wolverine to an inveitable draw and defeated a Giant super sentinel.

So it's kind of unfair to say that Cyke hasn't been getting respect. In fact, given that Cyclops is the leader of his team of X-Men and Cap isn't currently the leader of the Avengers, it would be more surprising if Cap would win.

@adamcawa- i know what you mean and agree totally that he is starting to be written as a bigger contender but im talking about these vs. stories or polls on here of "cyklops vs." most of the time people act as if cyclops is an easier opponent to take down. but on the predictable comment i made that in regards to popularity being that i dont see marvel letting cyke win when cap has become so popular in the comic community and the general masses.

@ luckylu

well, the Avengers do have a movie coming out, so I suppose I wouldn't be too shocked to see them come out on top

but it doesn't make sense to build Cyke up so much over the last few years only to have him job out to the Avengers

although, quite frankly, Marvel needs to do an M-Day type storyline to the entire Marvel universe right now

DC comics may be repetitive at times, but at least they know when to start over
