If I saw a Spider that big in real life, I'd break down and cry and scream "This is BULLSH*T!".

Great art, too bad I'm canceling all my Marvel Now books because I have zero interest in reading a shit Spider-man story that's being force fed to the fan base.

might actually check this out. never liked Peter Parker, he was always childish and devoid of character development. Doc Oc might be refreshing much like Mle Morales. or he could suck...like Ben Riley. we'll see.

I think it will suck, ill pass on this one. Only spider man in my book is Mile

I can see the resemblance in Doc Ock's goggles in his new Spidey suit. I think it would have been better if the suit was more towards a colour scheme closer to the Doc then red and black.

Also, if I saw a Spider that big, I would just F*** it, do whatever I wanted and just enjoy the last minutes I have left lol

I wonder if Spidey will end up re-growing his extra arms. Then he really would have something in common with an octopus!

I'm still trying to understand why the superior Spiderman has finger/toe hooks like Spiderman 1999. Why the change physiologically just because of Dr. Octopuses added psyche.

Is this still unresolved in the story, and if so will there be more physical changes as time goes by?

Still don't like Ock as Spider-Man.

It's a shame really because i love the design of is costume.

@SpideyQuad- It's not a physical change, it's a costume change.

Why are they attacking the holy queen spider? The Vatican, pope, and religious nuts everywhere will be up in arms over this issue.

its spider-man 2099 not 1999. Anywyas ther art looks wodnerful.

@shano okay but thats agian writers fault. I think Peter should have grown and in soem cases they tried to, but soemthing would always screw those plans up.

Why the heck doc ock adding claws and foot toes on the suit ? does he think it will make him "superior" or something ?
weaponX2
weaponX2 - 12/29/2012, 9:45 AM
I've been wondering the same thing about the split toe and talons...the body is still Peter, right? so, did he mutate? I guess I'll have to read and find out
RedandBlue
RedandBlue - 12/29/2012, 9:54 AM
@weaponX2

No mutation. It shows it in Avenging 15.1, he just happens to make talon gloves and boots.

I imagine more explanation will be in Superior #1.

Refuse to read a storyline picked just to stir up buzz and headlines. This is worthless drivel that will not see a dime of my money.
CaptainObvious
CaptainObvious - 12/29/2012, 11:11 AM
I have a better idea: Instead of switching bodies with Peter, why didn't Doc Ock just give Peter all his memories and experiences so Peter himself would be a "superior" Spider-Man? Think about it. Nobody is going to support a person who switches bodies with the hero for selfish purposes. If Doc Ock truly wanted to do the right thing, he would transfer his knowledge to Peter.

That is selfless. That is a noble thing to do, especially if Peter knows Doc Ock did this.

:NightAvenger: thanks that's been bugging me for a while! I haven't been buying comics for the past two years.

Parker2017: you're right, thanks for the correction! It feels like it's been 1000 years since I read those titles :-)

Nice art (except for spidey's pose when he lands on that cab). Spidey's new costume is cool, but I wish it was REAL peter Parker under that mask. Meh, not buying it anyway.
LeonNova
LeonNova - 12/29/2012, 11:47 AM
@CaptainObvious Well obviously that's because Doc Ock is a [frick]ing villain, why would he do the right thing and let himself die to save the one whose been the real hero for the past few decades in the comics
RadicalDuck
RadicalDuck - 12/29/2012, 11:57 AM
@CaptainObvious - that's not a bad idea at all!
CaptainObvious
CaptainObvious - 12/29/2012, 12:01 PM
@Jhuntdaprodigy- I know the idea of Dock Ock wanting to be a good guy is dumb, but if they really wanted to go the redemption route, just have him transfer his knowledge to Peter so it will benefit everything and everyone around him.

It's kind of like how I wish OMD would have been done. I know Mephisto asking for Peter and Mary Jane's marriage is dumb, but there is a way to make the story tragic. Have Mary Jane be the one who gets shot. Now it's a story about saving the woman you love. Peter's desperation escalates and then Mephisto comes in with his deal: Save MJ's life, but he has to sacrifice his marriage and remember the deal so he will know what he lost. That is how you do tragedy.
GrayMatter
GrayMatter - 12/29/2012, 12:54 PM
@CaptainObvious - AAAAAAHH! That would have been SO much better! Granted they're still eliminating Pete's marriage, but if he remembered, it wouldn't also have to undo all Pete's character development over the last however-many years. He could "get back to basics" or whatever it was Joe Quesedilla wanted to do, but still be the same Spider-Man that we all knew.

Anyways, what I still want to know is whatever happend to the extra powers that Peter got in the "Other" storyline. Maybe Ock will rediscover them in Pete's body?
CaptainObvious
CaptainObvious - 12/29/2012, 1:14 PM
@GrayMatter- The powers he got in The Other were also erased courtesy of One More Day. You can blame every continuity error in the Marvel universe on this story.

@SOideryQuad, I haven't either lol.

I feel sorry for Chris Yost and every other writer at Marvel that has to write Ock/Spider-Man because of Slott's one man campaign to pi$$ off all comic fans...

Can you imagine what it would be like for Yost if he is not on board with this but has to go along with it for his pay cheque?

:(
PartyKiller
PartyKiller - 12/29/2012, 2:59 PM
@SuperSomething616 Youre exactly right. Slott is trying to piss off fans and create a controversy to get attention and immediate sales.

Unfortunately, theyve been able to get attention by manipulating certain Websites like Bleedingcool. They have made contacts at those sites, then they send them "leaked" panels and pages that are just enough to create buzz.

And then those articles get picked up by sites like this one and finally they get the attention.

The real problem is these comics are cheap stunts that are not fun to read. The attraction isnt a story but usually about one page featuring a twist.
Once you see the "twist" like Superman, Cap, Batmam or The Torch dying your curiosity was fulfilled and you never really care to read that comic again because it had no actual entertaining quality.
Its like a "Who Dunnit". Once you know the ending its pretty much meaningless.

The really sad and laughable thing here is Slott is making a huge deal out of one of the worst cheap stunt ideas to ever exist in fiction and thats the mind swap.

We've seen this in "Freaky Friday", "Star Trek-Turnabout Intruder", "Vice Versa", "Like Father, Like Son", many comics, "JL Unlimited". Even a "Gilligan's Island episode used that crap.

And Slott is patting himself on the back over this. Thats kind of pitiful when you think about it.

The only comic that'll get my money is Scarlet Spider, and If this Avenging is any good I'll have a look.

Superior#1 will not get my money.

More like Inferior Spider-Man. And what is with the bug-eye mask lenses? They look ridiculous.

@CaptainObvious Exactly! That's what Dan Slott should've done. That would've been perfect!

@SuperSomething I think Yost will wait it out to see where the story goes. If it gets really bad(even more so than it already is...), I think he'll move on to another comic series.

He actually has integrity. He's not going to keep writing a bastardized version of Spider-Man. No matter how much Marvel is paying him.

@1geekygurl I like how Dan Slott was saying this about the story, but this is all about making money by doing something controversial. We all know it's bullshit that he's doing this for the sake of the story.

You're right! It's a cheap stunt. In those examples you listed though, the people ended up back in their original bodies. So this is even worse!
