COMICS: "Rogue Logan" Continues In First Look At WOLVERINE #3

Glad to see Wolverine getting some p*ssy.

Marvel has turned the Wolverine character into a heaping pile of shit.

They unveiled the whole mystery about his past, which took away what made him interesting.

Now as added insult, they take his powers, and it turns out that he can just be a regular guy. Whoever wrote that story needed to do some homework before hand.

When Chris Claremont took away his powers during one of the Genosha story arcs in the early 90's, Logan was weak and dying because his blood could not receive nourishment from his bone marrow, due to his skeleton being laced with the adamantium. Down to the point where wounds would take longer to heal than a regular person, because his blood cells could not assist in the overall cell regeneration process.

Marvel needs to either figure out how to restore Wolverine to his former glory, or just kill him off for good. But of course as we know, in Marvel there is no such thing as "dead for good".

Not liking the writing so far on this book, but the art delivers. I don't mind a little character growth with Wolverine, but IMO Charlie Huston did it better two years ago in The Best There Is.

The biggest problem right now with Wolverine is overexposure. When the character was incorporated to the X-Men in the 1970's, he was completely different from what the younger generation of readers are seeing nowadays.

Originally, Logan was introduced as a former Canadian government operative with a murky past that was shrouded in mystery. A loner with a killer instinct who was prone to psychotic rage (even towards his own teammates), but who was also seeking redemption for his past sins.

Another thing that made Wolverine interesting is that back then he was not put in forefront of the X-Men. That was Cyclops' place. Logan was the rebellious loner type who would question authority, but would never back away from a fight. On the contrary, he craved letting the animal loose.

Back in the day Wolverine had a key role in the battlefield, but he was not doing it for glory. He did it for the thrill of the kill. That's where get the famous quote "He's the best at what he does, but what he does is not nice".

The present Wolverine is barely a spec of what made him so appealing in the first place.

@Enki thanks a lot for the acknowledgement AND replies. Now I have something for you AND the site-Fam in general. "My Oracle" who tells me everything about comics has sent two gems, one featuring Wolvie which Ill share first but BOTH touching on something more generalized which you mentioned & made sous like is Marvel wide alone.

Here's the Wolvie reality. "I hate when ppl say things like the following; 'A de-powered Logan would instantly have a punishingly painful life (possibly true SO far) for ONE how would he possibly be able to carry his weighty Gen-X metal skeleton with all that's weight now feeling the full effect of it in movement?" Here's the GREAT Point my Oracle raised. "Neither of Logan's chief powers either address OR have ever accounted for his ability to carry that added weight! His dual powers are super human healing regeneration & heightened animal-like tuned senses & tracking/hunting ability! Do either of those account for his ability to carry that added weight? The answer is no! The only thing really left is bone claws for assault & defense so they DEFinately cannot account for this 'feat'. He hates that ppl in fandom make this very simple and obvious mistake. Moreover HIS accounting for Logan's ability is not super human strength but rather PEAK human strength built and both accounted for plus explained from years DECades living, traveling, training as a warrior, a hardened soldier (the further you trace back in the past the more rugged the class of warrior & citizen simply bc life it self was more rugged & much less efficient bc there was so much less Pre-industrial age innovation to be utilized & enjoyed. Now to be fair, YOU(Enki) never made that claim of Logan. I just shared it. The OTHER one tho and more controversial is the statement that goes "The Big 2" Universes wide that my friend - Ill leave his YouTube handle after this - states that says 'NOBODY IN COMICS EVER STAYS DEAD! With the possible exceptions of those characters that MAKE our heroes & their origins deep breath; Ben Parker, The Wayne's, Gwen Stacy, Jason Todd(for the LONGEST While) & Pre-Oracle Bat Girl (Pre-52) So that statement very much alive & vivacious that 'Nobody whose ANYbody dies - AND STAYS DEAD - in comics. @Enki! You spared me a question. Yes, you are exactly right he was nothing like the current character! Now not only does he have his own in the glory Wolverine book, but he ALSO just came off having his own TEAM and cartoon of the same name(??) Wokverine and the Xmen. He could never be a leader, it's not him! He DOESENT have the social skills! Just look at the films!! They began with a Terri le Logan but ATleast recognizable(!!!) now all the way down thru The A$$ Plan, oops I really did mean Lasst Stand to now - 'Phoenix Jean had it correct, 'they tamed you Logan' - 'DOFP' (killer title btw, insane trailer!!) but it clearly shows Logan TAME as ever, as Ever(!!!) why else would 2 super scientist/minds & genius even TRUST him on a diplomatic mission laced in sociology strengths!! It's pathetic!!! Katy Pryde was drafted for this mission for more than just her power! So make way for the PRO Hero (emphasis on he's not even an 'anti Hero' which he should be in every bear. Im done! I guess the best thing about him is the dedicated actor cast, but they've even LONG since groomed him into the tame Logan they have written.shame. Oh what could be, let's go enjoy DOFP for the Sentinels, new Mutants, pray for an epic after cred scene & that's about it,..

So much for Logan's samurai code of honor. Good artwork though.
