It's like the origin of Green Lantern mixed with finding the mom's house in Looper.

i get that Iron Man is basically the focal point of the Marvel Universe now, but I really am getting tired of seeing him in everything.

As cool as the deep space armor would be in the movie, i'd much rather the GOTG connection to the Avengers be through Thor. To me that just feels like the best option, plus the character hasn't been part of just about every single Marvel movie like Iron Man has

So GOTG gets a helping hand from Rian Johnson's Looper. :-P

The non-Marvel Now cover has some visual elements the film should contain. Referring to Quill's origin, I think there is a chance to take a look at some of the late '70's extraterrestrial cinematic greats to draw from.., palette and scope-wise.

Elliott fetching the pizza back in '82 comes to mind.., there are so many.

@Shamo
Thanks.
Hopefully Chris Pratt's casting means that we will be getting classic Star Lord instead of the new, blonde, helmetless monstrosity of the Marvel Now! variety.

Nomis Seriously that magazine may be my all time favorite single issue. I can't tell you how many times I read that just the year it came out, but then again my avatar tells it all :-)

John Byrne and Terry Austin, the pair that made the uncanny X-Men to me. One of the best all-time art teams in the history of comics!

where is the helmet/mask? He better have them at the very least when they actually do space stuff, in this comic and the movie

looks like an interesting read.

I'm a little nervous about the film, although greatly looking forward to it.
the guy they got to play Star Lord is a complete chunky ass-clown, and Marvel's insertion of Iron Man into the line-up shows they are a testicle short in regards to their confidence level about the movie.

fingers crossed.

the writing will most likely be shit too since Bendis apparently thought guns were cooler then swords so he took away Gam's Godkiller. then theirs the fact Mantis, Vance and Flag were replaced with Iron Man..because Hey! who doesn't like Tony Stark, amirite? then we can't forget the removal of Starlords mask simply to show off that freshly died hair of his.

but most importantly, theres the fact that Starlord made it back from the Cancerverse with absolutely no explanation. what a great start to this book marvel and i've yet to even read it.

He crashed like Abin? so did the guy that gives StarBrand his powers, from Marvel New Universe which they are bringing back. We need a new origin for alien powers I think.

The new Nova #1 SUCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
