Are we about to enter the era of Spider-Boy? Marvel Comics is going all in on this newly introduced teenage web-slinger, no great surprise after multiple sold-out printings of his key appearances.

While the character has proven divisive, he's also gripped the imaginations of fans with his mysterious backstory, leading to Spider-Man's long-lost sidekick landing his very own solo series. Launching in November, Spider-Boy #1 will see co-creator Dan Slott and artist Paco Medina begin to unravel the startling origin behind Bailey Briggs, the young hero that the Marvel Universe forgot.

Today, you can see the variant covers that will grace the highly-anticipated first issue along with a sneak peek at some never-before-seen interior artwork!

Leaping from the pages of Dan Slott and Mark Bagley's Spider-Man run, it's time for a full-blown Spider-Boy adventure! In addition to digging into Spider-Boy's top-secret past and exploring the reason why no one in the world remembers him, the new series will unleash the insanity of Spider-Boy's personal rogues gallery.

In these new preview pages, we see a classic Spidey team-up against new foe Gutterball as well as a face-off against an animalistic henchman of Madame Monstrosity, the mad scientist behind Bailey’s transformation into Spider-Boy! This new villain claims to have played a role in the origins of a host of iconic Marvel baddies, and Bailey may regret digging into the dark truths behind his creation.

"Spider-Man isn't supposed to have a sidekick. That's just wrong on so many levels. And that is exactly why we are going to have so much fun with this," Slott recently said. "Both this character - and this new title - are going to break all the rules. Bailey Briggs is going to have over-the-top adventures in the Spider-Man corner of the Marvel Universe."

"He'll be facing off against a mix of both all-new villains and fan-favorite Spidey bad guys. The one thing we can promise you, whenever you pick up a copy of Spider-Boy, we are going to take the weirdest and wildest swings with every single story!" the writer added. "Our goal is to get every reader to ask two questions: 'What in the hell did I just read?!' and 'When is the next one coming out?!'"

Has the Marvel Universe finally found its Robin equivalent or is this among the publisher's worst ideas? Only time will tell, but there's no denying the artwork below is in equal parts amazing and spectacular...

Makes about as much sense as Tim Drake’s Robin so I guess it works… right?
HulkisHoly - 9/16/2023, 10:25 AM
He’s gonna turn into a villain like Incrediboy to Syndrom isn’t he?
RolandD - 9/16/2023, 10:27 AM
@HulkisHoly - When everyone is a Spider-character, no one is special.

@Th3Batman - this is a comic book, you read them and look at the pictures, this is what we had back in the day before comic book movies became popular

Looks like maker hands in that page
snoopytrek - 9/16/2023, 11:47 PM
.. couldn't they just stop at Miles, the youngest of the group and call it a day. I mean, he's practically the best one now anyways. The two spiderverse movies will end up making more than the lasted live action ones. Sorry, Tom

@snoopytrek - $$$$$
