Marvel Comics Unleashes First Look At Jonathan Hickman And Greg Capullo's Red-Band WOLVERINE: REVENGE

Marvel Comics has shared a first look at details for Wolverine: Revenge, a new five-issue series from Jonathan Hickman and Greg Capullo which will see Logan embark on a blood-soaked mission of...revenge!

Last year, comic book legend Greg Capullo (Batman) made his long-awaited return to Marvel Comics, and now, after a host of incredible cover art, he's back to gracing the Marvel Universe with his iconic interior artwork.

Capullo will team up with visionary writer Jonathan Hickman (Ultimate Spider-Man) this August in an all-new prestige limited series, Wolverine: Revenge.

The comic will be five issues of pure, unadulterated Wolverine action just in time for the iconic character's 50th anniversary (and the release of Deadpool & Wolverine). If that's not enough, Wolverine: Revenge will also be available as special "Red Band Editions." Like the current Blood Hunt event series, Wolverine: Revenge - Red Band Edition will be polybagged for the protection of innocent eyes/

Inside, it will include exclusive pages and elevated violence!

Capullo and Hickman will team up to pit Wolverine against a cadre of foes who will turn his world upside down, including Sabretooth, Omega Red, Deadpool, and more. He's been beaten! He’s been bloodied! And Logan only has one thought on his mind: revenge

"I've finally returned home to Marvel, and I'm ready to raise some Hell," Capullo says. "And, who better to do that with than the Hitman Hickman? To celebrate, Marvel has removed the fences and let us off our leash so that we can bring the most vicious and punishing Wolverine story possible to the fans this summer. I hope they're prepared."

Hickman adds, "Well, obviously it's such a privilege to get to work with a legend like Greg. When we first talked about the project, our number one concern was taking the readers on a high-octane, no-hold-barred Wolverine story that was a proper celebration of both the character and Greg returning to Marvel."

"And like he said, the bosses cut us loose and the result is an absolutely wild book. Honestly can't wait for everyone to get to check it out."

This series sounds like an absolute blast and with Deadpool & Wolverine set to boast an R-Rating, it's good to know we'll see Logan unleashed both on the page and in theaters. The Merc with the Mouth getting a mention in the description above is also interesting, particularly as there are already a couple of titles on the way which will pit them against each other this summer.

As cool as this shit is, a properly led Krakoan storyline by Hickman woulda been priceless this worth nothing compared to that.

But yeah, color me eXcited, i guess....

@oldnoname - Batman doesn't much either these days. More interested in those that help maintain his sanity.

Wolverine, as a character doesn't really interest me that much tbh. But, of course, it's Hickman so I'm there! (Capullo's not a non factor either)

I hope Snyder and Capullo team up again for another DC series that’s NOT Batman.

@HAUSMAN01 - Absolutely no gameplay in the trailer. Finally doing ancient Japan after the studio heads knocked the setting for years. This franchise is a pale imitation of the greatness it once was. And, with a Japanese set game they have the audacity to make the main character not Japanese. This is going to be such an epic failure and Ubisoft deserves every piece of it.

Unpopluar Opinion: I didn't really care for Greg Capullo art on new 52 Batman.

I loved his artwork on Spawn but I just wasn't feeling it for Batman.

I like Capullo but his Superman looks a little weak to me. And I couldn’t take all the Metal and Laughs and stuff. But his Swamp Thing was cool if no one saw this comic - WalMart exclusive.

Capullo went from being a McFarlane clone to a legit badass.

Best Batman since 70s Aparo IMO
