The Marvel Universe Is Twisted In The Deranged Image Of Mister Sinister In New SINS OF SINISTER

Next month, the Marvel Universe will descend into utter madness thanks to the machinations of X-Men villain Mister Sinister! Now, we have a trailer teasing what's to come in the Sins of Sinister event...

Sins of Sinister is an all-new mutant epic that kicks off next month in a giant-sized one-shot by the visionary Immortal X-Men creative team, writer Kieron Gillen and artist Lucas Werneck.

Fellow current X-Men writers Al Ewing and Si Spurrier join Gillen in penning their respective new titles, while artists Paco Medina, Andrea Di Vito, and Alessandro Vitti are also on board. Tackling three separate time periods, each superstar artist will draw an issue of all three titles as consecutive issues propel the Marvel Universe further and further into a dark future.

Now, we can get a first look at this universe-melting X-event in the newly released Sins of Sinister trailer featuring never-before-seen artwork. The teaser opens with Sinister finally paying for his monstrous crimes, but it’s far too late. Even as mutantkind's leaders sentence him to the pit, Sinister’s dangerous game bears fruit.

Watch on in horror as earth’s greatest heroes fall and armies of mutant Chimera rise. The trailer teases Storm’s brave struggles as leader of the last surviving mutant stronghold in Storm & The Brotherhood of Mutants, the vicious plotting between the remaining members of the Quiet Council and the return of fan-favorite character Rasputin in Immoral X-Men, and the deadly attacks committed by a cult-like group of vicious Nightcrawler hybrids in Nightcrawlers.

"I joke that it makes Age of Apocalypse look like the Swimsuit Special, and I'm not saying in terms of quality or anything," Gillen explains in an interview with ComicBook.com. "What I'm actually saying is, by the end of the thousand-year bit, it's so apocalyptically grim."

"You start at a very low-level conspiracy vibe. In the middle, you've got evil space opera, and then a far future of full-on gothic, operatic horror," he continues. "That's the vibe of the three [time periods], and then we end on Sins of Sinister: Dominion to round it all off."

Sinister has been planning all this since the beginning, and now he'll be forced to see it through to the bitter end. Dare to see what unfolds in a world cursed by Sinister when Sins of Sinister #1 arrives on January 25, and watch the trailer below!

It's sad that Sinister used to be my absolute favorite comic villain of all time, but now I can't stand him. The whole loud, obnoxious and happy-go-lucky version that comments on characters' clothes bit really ruined one of the coolest villains ever.

I really hope they kill this version off and turn him back into the way he used to be.

@CorndogBurglar - I agree… but at least the plot of this sounds better than the original announcement. This at least makes it sound like he is reaping what he sowed. If done correctly, it could be an interesting story. Kind of a counterpoint to AoA, where Apocalypse was HAPPY with what he had created… in this case, it looks like Sinister’s machinations got out of control.

It’ll probably be terrible for the reason you mentioned, but I’ll check it out.
