Daredevil Reboot Underway

20th Century Fox is moving forward with a Daredevil reboot and has already hired a screenwriter for the film.

Deadline.com has recently reported a brief update on the status of a reboot to the 2003 film Daredevil. Regency is tackling the project with former News Corps number two Peter Chernin as a producer.

The screenwriter attached to the film is David Scarpa, who scripted The Day The Earth Stood Still for Fox. The new film has yet to be assigned a title and no word has been released from the studio whether the original actors will reprise their roles.

Deadline.com's reasoning for this is simple and accurate: 'Hollywood studios with Marvel superheroes need to keep reinventing these Marvel movie franchises or the rights revert back to Disney-based Marvel.'

I thought they had already announced this before. Elecktra too.

Though I'm not a fan of DD, I sure hope they do better than before.

I thought DD was okay, the playground scene was awful, but the rest I liked.

I hope they make it better though, Daredevil deserves a great movie, not just an okay one.

Wonder who they'll cast.

I enjoyed DD, yeah it had some sillyness to it but I don't think it deserves the awful reputation it has.

I thought DD was a good movie, but I want the rights to go back to Marvel with the Punisher so we can get a Daredevil/Punisher movie.

Thank god, daredevil deserves a second shot and if they do it right it could be amazing. Let's hope they don't f**k this up!

I thought DD was a decent movie as well. I'm ok with a reboot though

Its a turf war with the studios. They'll do anything they can so Marvel doesn't get the rights back.

I liked the first one, and I wonder what they are going to do if the "redo" isn't as good. Suckers, they should just do a sequel.

I hear the new DD is going to be a complete reboot placing a young Matt Murdock ( with his eyesight intact) back in high school. He will be facing the everyday problems of your typical teen age, soon to be blind, superhero.

Multi: YEAH, WELL.... I DIDN'T!!! ;)

I really wanna' see a good Daredevil movie. The Day The Earth Stood Still was a terrible movie, made more terrible by the fact that the original is one of my all time favorites. I hope this guy writing it does his homework, Miller, Bendis, and Brubaker! I want to see a cool noir drama more not a superhero flop.

LMAO Multi: Crabs is just one, on his ever lengthening list my friend.

DD was better than his last appearance on screen. Remember this one?

Statham as DD would single handedly ruin the entire movie for me. He can't act for shit, for starters, sure as hell doesn't look like a convincing lawyer, sounds like a cockney meathead, and, wait, I think I've covered all my bases.

Hall is too old at this point, and probably wouldn't be able to do it, even with the cancer in remission.

I'd personally like to see what Misha Collins could do in the role.

Well, it can't be worse than the other DD movie right?.........Right?.............Oh God NOOOOOOOOOO! All kidding aside I think this is a good idea. It would be a great idea if marvel/disney got the rights and instead of a DD movie they should make a Marvel Knights movie with Luke Cage, IronFist, and DareDevil as the main heros and if they had the rights to spidey back they could have a cameo from are favorate web head. Just a thought.

Your Humble Poo Flinger, R.R.

P.S. I Hate You FOX!!! You ruined wolverine you BASTERDS!!! Was that over the top? I can never tell.

Maybe this time there won't be any super leaping.
Or ear hemorrhage inducing bad dialogue.
Or Ben A-flick.

Reboot, sequel, whatever, just don't waste our time with the origin tale please FOX. Just Do a 'Rebooquel' like 'The Incredible Hulk 2008'.

There's gotta be a way out. So if someone can stall Fox and keep them from making a Dare Devil movie for long enough, the movie rights go back to Marvel/Disney right? Anything attached to Fox means suckfest for fanboys (and usually normal audiences too).

my first choice would be Michael C Hall. But i think another good choice would be Ryan Kwanten. he is a good actor as evidenced by True Blood, and as also seen on that show is in pretty good shape. although he may be better suited to play Wally West.
