David Slade On His Vision For DAREDEVIL; Says The Yellow Suit Would Have Been Featured

Disney/Marvel will never have the balls to do what Slade/Carnahan were planning. Its just going to end up as some glossy family fun movie with no real substance.

Daredevil is a dark character in a brutal world. He can't be treated like iron man, thor, or praticaly ever other character in the mcu

I honestly would rather see daredevil as a tv series. Not that I'm against a DD movie or anything, he's my third favourite superhero and second favourite marvel character so anything DD outside of comics is going to get me excited but the nature of the character and his stories are much more suited towards tv than movies. If you read all the important stuff for DD (miller, smith, bendis, brubaker and waid) they all play out like a tv show, especially miller and bendis' runs.

Thank God he didn't make it.

Well maybe now in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they can make Hell's Kitchen seedy again – how? – by explained that it was a hard hit area during the Chitauri invasion. No? Anyways, it would have been interesting to see a period piece Daredevil film. Who knows, maybe Marvel Studios will try it. As for Fox, I'm telling you guys, between X-Men: Days Of Future Past and The Man Without Fear planned for the 1970s, I think the Fox Shared Universe will be entirely a period piece. The Nixon era Space Race period would definitely benefit the Fantastic Four reboot.

I'm telling you, David Slade directing a DareDevil movie would've been perfect. I love Slade and I think he would've really done DareDevil justice on the big screen.

Thank goodness that film wasn't made, that yellow suit in the 70's would've been cheesy. Daredevil deserves to have more of Christopher Nolan Dark Knight Trilogy feel to it. Hopefully Marvel will do the character justice on the big screen.

Daredevil is back and will most likely stay dead for a decade at least.

So hooray, instead of a talented film maker making a dark Daredevil movie, we're either getting no film for a while or like others have said, a toned down version.

Thank God they don't have X-Men or Spider-Man

FOX had their chance. Marvel even wanted to give them more time to make it. Instead, FOX let it revert.

First off, if you go back just 20 years, Alphabet City,all the way through Hell's Kitchen and up into The Bronx were still pretty damn rough around the edges and not yet remotely touched by Giuliani (who'd only just become Mayor in '93).

Ignoring the fact that Daredevil takes place in a fictional version of NYC that doesn't have to adhere to every detail of reality, if something happens in the next couple of years and Matt Murdoch is a respectable 30 or so in whatever new film happens, that's stll A LOT of being shaped by his neighborhood before the gentrification. Given that I grew up in New York and lived through that period, I know of what I speak.

Now as for the present and the "cleaner" NYC, that's kind of where the fiction comes in. The real world doesn't have a Wilson Fisk/The Kingpin or the other comic book crime lords in it's NYC. The world of Daredevil does and that's the difference. It doesn't have to absolutely be one or the other in order for Daredevil to work.
