DEADPOOL Director Tim Miller Planned To Make Negasonic Teenage Warhead A Villain In The Sequel

Tim Miller decided not to direct Deadpool 2 after running into creative differences with Ryan Reynolds and Brianna Hildebrand has now shed some light on what he may have had planned for the follow-up...

Brianna Hildebrand's Negasonic Teenage Warhead didn't have the biggest of roles in Deadpool 2 but she did gain a girlfriend and was a key part of the sequel's final battle. David Leitch was obviously at the helm of the sequel but had Deadpool director Tim Miller remained in charge of the franchise, it sounds like the mutant would have undergone some pretty major changes in her personality.

"I feel like every time I wish for something specific, maybe it doesn’t happen, or the opposite happens," Hildebrand said when she was asked about what she hopes comes next for the hero.

"I know that we switched directors for the second film, but I remember after the first film was over, Tim was like, ‘Wouldn’t it be great if your character was a villain next time?’ And I was like, ‘That would be sick, yeah, sure, why not?’ And that’s definitely not the way that it went [laughs]." It would have been great seeing Negasonic clash with the Merc with the Mouth and Colossus in Deadpool 2, especially if she had aligned herself with Magneto's Brotherhood of Evil Mutants or another villain.

As for whether or not she would like to be a villain next time around (assuming there is a next time), she added; "Yeah, that would be cool." Are you disappointed that we didn't get Miller's version of Deadpool 2 or were you happy with the sequel? Let us know your thoughts on that down below.

If it was done well, then it could work, but if she was just going to show up as a villain, then it would have been weird

Moody angsty teen becomes villain? Ground breaking.

Keeping her as a hero was for the better. I presume she would have just taken the place of Russel in the idea of some explosive kind of character caused Cable’s future.

@MikeyL - think I would of like that better then having Russell and it would of given the actress something to do in the movie and a decent arc

@MikeyL - I don't think it was for the better, she was reduced to a background character who said only about 10 lines (literally)

If they made it work I would have preferred it. I personally couldn't stand Russel/Firefist.

I think she wouldve played the role Russel ended up playing in the sequel. It makes sense when you think about it.

That would have been interesting and probably an improvement. I really didn’t like what we got with her or the villains of the film, Tim Millers version would have been far better I bet.

It doesn’t sound like he “planned” it, he was just throwing out ideas.

I think it would have been pretty funny if Deadpool accidentally got negasonic's gf (yuki?) killed kinda like vanessa and that made her go villain for most of the movie. Then he can use cable's timey wimey toy to go back and save her so negasonic doesn't go rogue. This is how a lesbian relationship proves relevant to the plot instead of just pandering to social justice media. Because seriously, that "cute couple" stuff felt forced asf.

@Android - the version I made up in 30 seconds was definitely better than the whole russel fiasco. One big elaborate poorly orchestrated excuse to play with juggernaut and introduce xforce. Complete with time travel redaction. Irreverent lazy fan service. #SorryNotSorry

I enjoyed her character in both DP films. Would've been weird to see her as a villain though. I seem to be in the minority but I liked Julian Denison's character and thought he made a good villain for what type of film DP2 was.

It would have given her character more to do and given her a chance to really act but oh well.

Could be cool. In the comics, when Rusty left to become a terrorist for the Mutant Liberation Front, he took a few others with him.
