DOCTOR STRANGE Director Scott Derrickson Seemingly Breaks Silence On Why He's Not Directing The Sequel

In a series of vague Tweets, Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson appears to elaborate on why he's no longer helming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness for Marvel after "creative differences!"

Way back in January, Doctor Strange director Scott Derickson parted ways with Marvel Studios due to "creative differences" over upcoming sequel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Not much has been revealed since then, though the filmmaker remains attached to the project as an executive producer (that usually doesn't mean very much).

Now, it's looking a lot like Derrickson has broken his silence on what happened, hinting on social media that a clash of visions really was at the heart of his decision to walk away from the franchise.

As expected, it looks like Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige wanted the director to make a film much different to the one he initially imagined. It's been reported that Derrickson had plans to make the MCU's first horror film, but that likely fell by the wayside when the choice was made to take the Sorcerer Supreme and Scarlet Witch on a trip through the Marvel Multiverse.

Despite that clash of visions, the filmmaker appears pleased with the choice of Sam Raimi as the Doctor Strange sequel's new director, and we definitely anticipate him doing something special with it.

Kevin Feige is and always will be more important than the director when it comes to the MCU movies.

A Raimi Doc Strange film sounds infinitely more interesting. Glad Derrickson backs him and is producing (sure that title is just a nice gesture though)
