We may have seen the first trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but it feels like the footage revealed pretty much nothing about the sequel. While What If...?'s Strange Supreme looks set to be part of the proceedings, we don't know who else in the movie will be a Variant, and there's a good chance both of the characters you see below aren't exactly who they appear to be on the surface.
First, we have Master Mordo; while there's a chance this is how Strange's former ally has evolved since we last saw him, we can't discount the possibility that he's a Mordo from another reality.
As for Defender Strange, while he could be yet another Variant of the Sorcerer Supreme, the prevailing theory is that this is Strange's new look in the MCU. A new costume is long overdue at this point, and if the hero is going to form his own team of Multiversal Defenders, then this could be what he heads into action wearing now Wong has [SPOILER] become the Sorcerer Supreme.
The first Marvel Studios movie of 2021 is shaping up to be the most exciting, and delving into the MCU's Multiverse is bound to have mind-bending consequences for the future of this franchise.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to be released on May 6.
