Eternals arrived on Disney+ earlier this week, but many fans couldn't help but express disappointment that the movie's special features were M.I.A. Prior to the blockbuster's streaming debut, Marvel Studios had dropped a couple of deleted scenes on social media, but it appears we'll have to pick up the Blu-ray to check the rest out...unless you're willing to wait just a little longer.
Taking to Instagram yesterday, Eternals director Chloé Zhao confirmed, "Commentary, Assembled and other bonus features will be [available] on [Disney+] in March."
Assembled is, of course, the Disney+ exclusive documentary series that takes us behind-the-scenes of Marvel Studios' movies and TV shows in hourlong specials featuring interviews, making-of footage, and more. We don't have a debut date for that or the rest of Eternals' special features yet, but this is news that's bound to be welcomed by fans eager to learn more about the immortal heroes.
In the same post, Zhao seemingly responded to the movie's mixed reviews by expressing gratitude for the discussion that continues to surround the thought-provoking action-adventure. "So much has been said about our film and now I’m so excited for y’all to have your own experience with it," the filmmaker said. "Love to all the fans, audiences, exhibitors, theater workers, critics, and of course all the amazing people who so passionately worked on this film."
Marvel Studios has yet to confirm Eternals 2 plans, though we are expecting a sequel somewhere down the line. Whether Zhao will be behind the camera for that is similarly unclear right now.
