ETERNALS' Kit Harington Reveals That He Turned Down A Superhero Role When He Was Filming GAME OF THRONES

Game of Thrones alum Kit Harington is set to make his MCU debut as Dane Whitman (we still don't know if he'll actually become the Black Knight in this movie) in Marvel's Eternals, but the actor has now revealed that he was offered a role in a different superhero movie back when he was filming the HBO fantasy series.

Harington declined to reveal the name of the film, but he did confirm that he turned down the part "a while ago — just because it didn't feel like the right thing at the right time. And I think I was right to."

"You know, the comic-book and superhero world has called once before, and I didn't like the role and the part and the time to do it," he added during an interview with Total Film. "So I turned it down. And then this one [in 'Eternals'] felt right to me. I liked that the character they were offering was not necessarily an Eternal. He was human. I did like that. I felt that I could do something with that, that he came with all these human faults. So it was the character that drew me to it, as well as it being the MCU, and how exciting."

Harington played Jon Snow on Game of Thrones for almost a decade, so it would be difficult to narrow down which projects he might have been offered. However, we do recall a rumor that he was in line to play Reed Richards in 2015's disastrous Fantastic Four reboot, so that's certainly one possibility.

Eternals features an exciting new team of Super Heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, ancient aliens who have been living on Earth in secret for thousands of years. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, an unexpected tragedy forces them out of the shadows to reunite against mankind's most ancient enemy, The Deviants.

The next Phase 4 adventure is set to hit theaters on November 4.

TLDR: I had a big franchise so I didn’t need it but now it’s over so I do.

Understandable, you're in the biggest tv show ever so everything else seems small potatoes at that time. When GoT sh*t the bed he must've been like "get me the Marvel guy asap.....yes, the bald dude, thanks".
