ETERNALS Star Barry Keoghan Teases Some Action-Packed Deleted Scenes Featuring Druig (Exclusive)

Eternals star Barry Keoghan talks to us about doing his own stunts as Druig in the Marvel Studios movie, while also teasing a few action-packed moments that sadly wound up on the cutting room floor...

We're just days away from Eternals hitting cinemas across the globe (Friday, November 5), and last week, we sat down for a brief chat with Barry Keoghan to discuss his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as Druig. The movie obviously boasts a massive ensemble cast, so we were curious whether the actor recalls any scenes that ended up on the cutting room floor.

"I did a few good stunts that I don’t think made it, probably for the right reasons," Keoghan says in the video below. "We do see some stunts I did do myself, but there were a few more that were kind of cool I hope people see."

It's definitely interesting to think that what sounds like a key action scene for Druig didn't make it into the movie, though we're sure Marvel Studios will eventually share that. After all, it's not uncommon for action beats like these to be trimmed down or cut, especially if it helps the flow of the story.

Of course, talking about that A-List cast, we also wondered what it was like for Keoghan to shoot that already iconic shot of the ten heroes arriving on Earth for the first time near the start of Eternals. "And me not in it [Laughs]. Just slightly out of it," he joked before adding that filming it was "Not as easy as it looks. I mean, I’m on the edge of a cliff in the Canary Islands. Well, not the edge of a cliff, I’m dramatizing that, but it’s definitely an iconic shot, man."

We're confident you guys are going to love what you see from Druig in the movie, and in our interview, the actor also talks about making the leap to the DCEU for The Batman, what it was like inhabiting a character who is thousands of years old, and a whole lot more besides.

Movie can’t be that good if you’re talking about deleted scenes before the movie comes out.

Hey guys let’sGo see this movie I heard it has some really amazing scenes that won’t be in the movie because they were deleted.

Joke so relax.

@MisterDoctor217 - when you Americans think 'British accent', you basically mean a generic English RP accent. There are more accents in Britain than the whole of US.

Friend of mine has seen a preview screener, he compared it to Thor: The Dark World in terms of quality and storyflow.
The more grim and washed out aesthetic is something he personally didn't like but understands that it's meant to break the mold.

I'll be watching next sunday perhaps.

btw. Halloween Kills is a dud indeed.

@Blergh - Halloween Kills was the worst movie I've seen in theaters since Jurassic World 2.
Which sucks cuz I thought 2018 was awesome.

@Blergh - I want more dire and adult oriented MCU movies, rated R even. I hope DS2: MoM is a true horror with hero elements
Blergh
Blergh - 10/31/2021, 11:53 AM
@abd00bie - I wouldn't mind more adult and action oriented MCU films, I fully understand Disney's decision to keep their hottest hitting franchise kid friendly and easy to get into for younger audiences but I think there are certain corners of the franchise that require a more violent and darker tone (Blade and the entire vampiric angle of the Marvel universe in particular).

@PapaSpank54 - absolutely, it felt like they made a movie about the people of Haddonfield and then had to add some Michael scenes in order to keep him in the marketing. It was a very disjointed experience.
Even I, someone who defends the hell out of Halloween 6, was dissapointed. And I think there are only two Halloween films I genuinely hate (Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 & Ressurection)
