Captain America Fancast

My first fancast is of the Cap.

This is a fancast of a few major players surrounding Captain America. It is my first fancast on ComicBookMovie.com so hopefully you can spare me some slack. I’ve actually casted a ton of Marvel characters but for this one I’ve decided to start off with Captain America here, and granted, it's pretty short.

And another note: I tried to stick with the live action movies as much as possible but sometimes I just didn’t particularly like the cast so I casted my own actor. And yeah I get it, much of my cast is based on looks but, what are you gonna do huh? I know only limited amounts of actors.

Heroes/ Adventurers

Captain America- Chris Evans

Evans has been casted as Captain America in the upcoming 2011 movie so I’m like okay. At first I was kinda against a relatively comedic actor playing possibly my favorite hero but after seeing him in Loss of a Teardrop Diamond, I figured he’s actually pretty decent in a drama.

Winter Soldier- Tim Pocock

So I thought Sebastian Stan looked too old to play Bucky. Then I saw Tim Pocock as young Cyclops in X-Men Origins and decided that he had the right look for Bucky, having that young, naïve, yet brash look. He’s actually also 25 so he’d be old enough for a Winter Soldier if need be.

Falcon- Chiwetel Ejiofor

Yeah well I had a very difficult time finding someone to play Falcon. I personally like Chiwetel as an actor. He’s pretty versatile in his roles and if he works out he’d do pretty well as Falcon. He’s also only 33, so he’s closer to Chris Evan’s age than many other black actors.

Margaret "Peggy" Carter- Hayley Atwell

I had no idea who she was. Saw that she was casted in the Captain America movie and said “fine”.

Sharon Carter- Emmanuelle Vaugier

She was my original cast as Peggy Carter but after Hayley Atwell as cast, I moved her to Sharon Carter. She’s sexy and a decent actress. I personally like her very much, having seen her on Smallville, Human Target, and other roles. She certainly looks capable of action sequences. I know she’s a brunette and Sharon is a blonde, but that’s easily rectified. In this case, I guess “look” wasn’t the basis of my selection.

Nick Fury- Samuel Jackson

Do I need to express words to explain why? And yes, I went Ultimate.

Dum Dum Dugan- Neal McDonough

He wouldn’t have been my first choice but I never casted Dugan so after seeing Neal listed as playing Dugan, I decided to go along with it.

Dr. Abraham Erskine- Stanley Tucci

He was casted in the movie. But on a separate note, he’s one of my favorite actors and he would pull off this role perfectly.

Villains/ Criminals

Baron Zemo- David Thewlis

I came to know of David Thewlis from Harry Potter and I found him one of my favorite actors from the series (which I generally did not like). Zemo did not need to be handsome of whatever but I found that Thewlis, as a period actor, could pull off someone like Zemo, who has the mentality of the WWII era. He has the versatility to play both good and bad, which makes him perfect as a cunning schemer.

Red Skull- Hugo Weaving

One of my favorite actors, he’s perfect as the maniacal Red Skull.

Viper- Angelina Jolie

Not sure why I included this character in here. So Jolie’s been the good guy for awhile and I thought it’d be brilliant if she played the evil Viper aka Madame Hydra. She certainly as that seductive look of a ruthless leader of HYDRA as well as a capable operative all on her lonesome.

MODOK- CGI (voice of John Noble)

I figure, he’d be mostly CGI but I felt John Noble would have the perfect voice for him as the mad scientist. Just modify his voice a little to make him sound somewhat machine-y.

Baron von Strucker- Derek Mears

For now, I casted Mears as Strucker since he had that imposing, evil, bald look down pat. I kinda saw Strucker as a Lex Luthor type in Marvel and I felt Mears exuded that.

Arnim Zola- Toby Jones

I forgot to cast Zola but luckily he already was. And it was a pretty damn good choice too.

And anyway, that's it. I'll brace for the criticism now.

Btw, I also wrote a plot outline for my own Captain America movie which will be revealed shortly.

pretty good cast.
I don't get why so many people have such a problem with Ultimate Nick Fury, he's so much cooler than 616 Nick Fury (who seems a bit camp/90s IMO), and Sam L Jackson is a bad-ass, and I doubt anyone could pull off that eye patch as well as he does
