It’s hard to find anyone that can debate as eloquently and passionately as a comic book fan. Here we have the perfect forum for just such a deliberation. Now's the time to put the otherwise useless wealth of knowledge to work! Our first match-up:

Powers and Abilities:

Deadpool (Wade Wilson) - Primary power is an accelerated healing factor, which enables him to regenerate any destroyed tissues or organs very quickly. The speed at which this healing factor works varies in direct proportion to the severity of the damage he suffers (he even survived decapitation at least twice). As a by-product of his healing factor, he possesses enhanced strength, stamina, agility, and reflexes. Aside from his physical advantages, he is an expert in multiple forms of martial arts, and an expert swordsman and marksman. He favors using bladed and martial arts weapons to meet opponents in single combat. He also uses various firearms and blade weapons, his trademark weapons being his twin katanas, worn on his back, and his dual-wielded pistols. He suffers from apparent insanity, a byproduct of his unnatural healing factor. His bouts of madness also function as an asset as it allows him to devise bizarre and ultimately humorous situations when attacking his opponents. He wears a personal teleportation device on his torso.

Punisher (Frank Castle) - He is the recipient of multi-disciplinary military training from the U.S. Marine Corps. While a Marine, he also received training from the U.S. Army and Navy. He is proficient in not only basic infantry skills, but in special operations, which includes the use and maintenance of specialized firearms and explosive ordnance. He is highly trained in infiltration into heavily-guarded enemy territories and structures for the purpose of assassination, captures, and military intelligence. Also, he is trained in various forms of camouflage and stealth. From his Navy UDT training, Punisher is well-skilled in extended underwater operations, including demolitions. He is skilled with a great many types of explosives, ranging from simple dynamite to improvised explosives. His hand-to-hand combat skills are more than sufficient to allow him to incapacitate and kill men much stronger than he is, as well as to deal with groups of armed and unarmed enemies, killing them all without weapons if he deems it necessary. He is also extremely deadly in knife training, preferring the knife he learned to fight with in the USMC: the k-bar. Additionally, he is a preternaturally-precise marksman. He is thoroughly trained and experienced in unconventional ("guerilla") warfare. He is an brilliant tactician, a master at game theory, a skilled gunsmith, and an expert in field medicine.

Initial engagement location:

The USS Intrepid Museum, Manhattan, New York City

Basic rules:

1. We are not discussing the ethics behind why they are fighting, only that they ARE fighting.

2. This is an all-out brawl with only one winner. No draws.

3. No one want s to hear “But if he didn’t have THIS power, then. . ”, so keep that B.S. out of the discussion.

Let’s get it on!
