Right now a lot of you may be asking yourselves, "Who the hell is this guy?" He's best known for his role in Chuck where he plays Devon "Captain Awesome" Woodcomb and the moment I saw him in the show I knew the guy would make an excellent Captain America!
He's the right height (6'3) and build for Captain America and in my opinion, he sure looks the part! As well as that (and I know this sounds a little odd) he actually has the voice that I actually imagine Steve Rogers having! If you look through his mainly comedic lines in Chuck and listen carefully you'll hear a voice that you can easily imagine shouting, "Avengers Assemble!"
He may in fact be exactly what Marvel are looking for. McPartlin is relatively unknown and doesnt have any other roles in his past that his take on Cap would be compared to!
There's also a good chance that Marvel already have their eye on him. They must have checked out Chuck when Zachary Levi was being considered for Fandral and McPartlin has a superhero past to some extent - he narrowly missed out on playing Superman after auditioning for the role of Clark Kent/Superman in Superman Returns!
As I've only seen him in Chuck I couldnt tell you what he's been like in the variety of other TV shows he's been in but I can say that from what I've seen so far I'm impressed! Though he excels at comedy, his more dramatic scenes have been top notch and I dont find it at all difficult to see him as The First Avenger: Captain America!
