Well, I figured this was inevitable, and quite a few things have changed (and stayed the same too) from my previous "Avengers" casting call.
So let's jump in!
Steve Rogers/Captain America: Chris Evans. Aside from already having been cast, I actually like this. It's a left field choice on the part of the casting people's choices, but Evans is a better actor than I think people give him credit for. I can't wait to see him weilding the shield!
Tony Stark/Iron Man: Robert Downey Jr.
Jim Rhodes/War Machine: Don Cheadle.
Bruce Banner/The Hulk: Edward Norton.
Thor: Chris Hemsworth. Any clue when we'll be getting official stills of the movie?
Clint Barton/Hawkeye: Jeremy Renner. Seeing him in "SWAT" and "The Hurt Locker" completely convinced me that he'd be perfect for Hawkeye. I do hope he'll officially accept the role, because he'd totally own it.
Hank Pym: Nathan Fillion. One of the original picks I'm still keeping around, Fillion's just one of my most favorite actors and Hank Pym is the perfect character for him.
Janet Van Dyne: There are two choices for this part...
Grace Park, from my first cast. Park has both the physicality (petite, but still tough) and the acting skills (as demonstrated on Battlestar Galactica and The Cleaner). Plus an Asian Wasp can add a little diversity, right?
Kristen Bell. In an interview, she said that she'd like to play Wasp, and I can really see it. Aside from being petite and being able to pull off being a brunette, Bell's actual age (30 years old) and youthfulness can really be played up in a character like Wasp.
Nick Fury: Samuel L. Jackson.
Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow: Scarlett Johansson.
Timothy "Dum-Dum" Dugan: Ted Levine. Come on, he's fricking perfect looks wise!
Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch: Eva Green. I will not be swayed from this. For crying out loud, there's no way Olivia Munn will play Wanda, despite what the internet rumor baloney machine's spewing. Munn is a comedian, and Wanda really deserves a better actress. Green can play strong, tragic and beautiful all at the same time. It helps that she even has that striking, Eastern European look to her as well, which lacks from a certain other pick who has a resume that leaves a lot to be desired (*cough*HelenaMattsson*cough*).
Pietro Maximoff/Quicksilver: Paul Wesley. Aside from looking a lot like Pietro (just give him white hair), Wesley's proven he can act. It doesn't hurt that he's handsome too. ;)
Simon Williams/Wonder Man: Tahmoh Penikett. Again, another pick I won't be swayed from. Penikett has the physicality down pat, and has proven his acting chops very well.
Carol Danvers/Mrs. Marvel: Ali Larter, for the same reasons as Penikett/Wonder Man.
Hercules: Kevin Durand. Yeah, he already played Blob in "X-Men" but since Chris Evans has played Johnny Storm in Fantastic Four (which will be getting the reboot treatment anyway) and is now playing Cap, the argument is kind of invalid. Durand's a great actor, and has the imposing, godly build too.
Victor Shade/Vision: Billy Zane. I can't let go of this pick for some reason. I just really like it.
Barbara Morse/Mockingbird: Jayne Wisener. Yep, re-using an actress from another, unrelated casting call I posted here. But really, Wisener actually can act, and is really beautiful too. She'd need some fitness training, but I have no doubt she'd rock as Mockingbird.
Stephen Strange/Dr. Strange: Ethan Hawke. Another choice I'm holding on to. Arrogant surgeon humbled by tragic accident, takes up studying the mystic arts under the ancient one, Hawke would work this role and make it all his own.
T'Challa/Black Panther: Chiwetel Ejiofer. Well, Black Panther's a bit tricky to cast, because there are just a lot of actors that could bring the character to life. But Ejiofer is one of my favorite actors, so yeah, there's a little fan bias working here. But he's still a great actor.
Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk: Jessica Biel. Yeah, admittedly, she's a bit overused, but Biel can definitely pull off the comedic aspects of She-Hulk's character as well as her caring and intelligent personality.
Greer Nelson/Tigra: Moon Bloodgood. With a name like that, how can you not see her as a tough super-heroine? Bloodgood even has a somewhat feline-like look to her, which could lend itself well to Tigra.
Sam Wilson/Falcon: Taye Diggs. There's just something about Diggs that really gives off a dependable, heroic vibe, and I think he'd put that to good use as Captain America's best friend, Falcon.
Luke Cage: Morris Chestnut. Well, he's got the looks and the build. Unfortunately, I haven't seen him in anything, so I can't judge his acting. I'll admit to getting this from another cast here, someplace.
Danny Rand/Iron Fist: Cam Gigandet. Before you start giving me crap for this choice, hear me out first. Yes, he's been in some pretty bad movies, but Gigandet definitely has proven his ability to play the cocky guy with great fighting skills. And Gigandet actually practices martial arts (which shows in his physique), and he and Chestnut look like they could have a great "buddy-buddy" chemistry together.
And it's finished. I know, I don't have every single Avenger in this, but I've worked hard at this, and I hope you've enjoyed! Constructive criticism is enjoyed and encouraged. ;)
