"What is Sam Raimi's Spider-Man Trilogy?"

Spider-Man was featured in a trilogy of live-action films directed by Sam Raimi and starring Tobey Maguire as the title superhero. The first Spider-Man film of the trilogy was released on May 3, 2002; its sequel, Spider-Man 2, was released on June 30, 2004 and the next sequel, Spider-Man 3, was released on May 4, 2007..

Well, I must say that all in all, I really liked this franchise, especially Spider-Man 2. However, I didn't like Spider-Man 3 and Maguire wasn't the best choice for Spidey. I saw other recasts of this trilogy by users Ager and Robert Garlen and I decided to do one myself. I'd like to change a few things, for example: Mary Jane would be a model, Eddie Brock would be older and tougher, Peter, Harry, Mary Jane and the rest would be in college and Peter wouldn't be a pathetic douche when he is under the symbiote's influence.

Elijah Wood as Peter Parker/Spider-Man

(22 years in 2002) If you have seen the LotR trilogy, you should know that Elijah can play a young, kind, brave and energetic hero but he also can do funny, smart mouth characters. He looks alot like Peter Parker and, as he is a versatile and skilled actor, I'm sure he is an ideal choice. My only complaint would be his height but besides that he is the perfect pic.

Peter Parker/Spider-Man
·Height: 5'10"
·Eyes: Hazel
·Hair: Brown

Elijah Wood
·Height: 5' 6"
·Eyes: Blue
·Hair: Brown

Anne Hathaway as Mary Jane Watson

(20 years in 2002) This terrific actress may be Catwoman but in 2002 she was the perfect Mary Jane. She fits ideally the sweet girl-next-door type and she is pretty enough to be a model.

Mary Jane Watson
·Height: 5'8"
·Eyes: Green
·Hair: Red

Anne Hathaway
·Height: 5'8"
·Eyes: Brown
·Hair: Brown

Ed Harris as Norman Osborn/Green Goblin

(52 years in 2002) Harris is just a spectacular actor and I can't believe nobody casted him as Osborn before. He can play a serious businessman and then easily turn into a nutjob if asked. Plus, he is American, as opposed to fan-favorites Ralph Fiennes and Jason Isaacs. I'm really proud of this choice.

Norman Osborn/Green Goblin
·Height: 5'11"
·Eyes: Blue
·Hair: Reddish-Brown

Ed Harris
·Height: 5'9"
·Eyes: Blue
·Hair: Grey (formerly blonde)

Ryan Gosling as Harry Osborn

(22 years in 2002) Gosling started his career as a child and grew up to be a skilled, intense actor. He would be great playing this troubled young man. Althought I really like Franco, and I know most of you won't agree with me, I think Gosling is a better actor, and he fits Harry better too. You could also sell he is Ed Harris' son.

Harry Osborn
·Height: 5'10"
·Eyes: Blue
·Hair: Reddish-Brown

Ryan Gosling
·Height: 6'1"
·Eyes: Blue
·Hair: Blonde

Bruce Boxleitner as Uncle Ben

(52 years in 2002) I decided to go younger with Ben and May, as they are Peter's uncle and aunt, not his grandparents. So, this pick isn't very original but Boxleitner fits Uncle Ben like a glove. He hasn't been in many big stuff in the last 15 years but you may have seen him as Alan Bradley in Tron and Tron: Legacy.

Uncle Ben Parker
·Height: 5'9"
·Eyes: Blue
·Hair: White

Bruce Boxleitner
·Height: 6'2"
·Eyes: Hazel
·Hair: White (formerly brown)

Sissy Spacek as Aunt May

(53 years in 2002) Spacek is a very talented actress, who would portray Aunt May as a motherly character but not as fragile as Rosemary Harris did. She would also be great as Boxleitner's wife.

Aunt May Parker
·Height: 5'5"
·Eyes: Blue
·Hair: White (formerly blonde)

Sissy Spacek
·Height: 5'2"
·Eyes: Green
·Hair: Blonde

Dennis Farina as J. Jonah Jameson

(58 years in 2002) Dennis Farina would be perfect as the short-tempered but not so over-the-top Jameson. I loved JK Simmons' performance but I think that a less cartoony (but still funny and grumpy) version would be better and Farina is fantastic playing characters like that.

Aunt May Parker
·Height: 5'11"
·Eyes: Blue
·Hair: Black

Dennis Farina
·Height: 6'1"
·Eyes: Brown
·Hair: White (formerly black)

Spider-Man 2
Directed by Chris Columbus
Music by Michael Giaccinno

David Morse as Otto Octavius/Doctor Octopus

(51 years in 2004) Morse is an intense actor who is just wonderful playing villains. I have been wanting to cast him in some role since a long time ago and now I found the perfect role for him. This is another choice I really like.

Doctor Octopus
·Height: 5'9"
·Eyes: Brown
·Hair: Brown

David Morse
·Height: 6'4"
·Eyes: Blue
·Hair: White (formerly blonde)

David Thewlis as Dr. Curt Connors

(46 years in 2004) Thewlis is just a good actor I really liked as Remus Lupin in the Harry Potter saga. He is spot-on for this small but important character. Just like that.

Dr. Curt Connors
·Height: 5'11"
·Eyes: Blue
·Hair: Brown

David Thewlis
·Height: 6'3"
·Eyes: Blue
·Hair: Brown

Spider-Man 3
Directed by Chris Columbus
Music by Michael Giaccinno

Alice Eve as Gwen Stacy

(25 years in 2007) Eve is a talented actress who is just spot-on for the sweet Gwen Stacy. Blonde? Check. Beautiful? Check. Can play sweet characters? Check. Looks like the character? Check. She is just the ideal choice!

Gwen Stacy
·Height: 5'7"
·Eyes: Blue
·Hair: Blonde

Alice Eve
·Height: 5'5"
·Eyes: Left one blue and right one green (heterochromia)
·Hair: Blonde

Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Flint Marko/Sandman

(41 years in 2007) Jeffrey Dean Morgan is very versatile so it wouldn't be hard for him to play Sandman. He can play a brutish villain but also a caring father easily so I have faith that he would have been awesome!

Flint Marko/Sandman
·Height: 6'1"
·Eyes: Brown
·Hair: Brown

Jeffrey Dean Morgan
·Height: 6'2"
·Eyes: Brown
·Hair: Brown

Norman Reedus as Eddie Brock/Venom

(38 years in 2007) This is the choice I like the most. After seeing his terrific performance in The Walking Dead, I became a fan of his work immediately. His turn as Eddie Brock would have been darker and more similar to the comics, even if he doesn't look alot like it. I've seen him casted as Carnage but I know he would have been a hell of a Venom.

Eddie Brock/Venom
·Height: 6'3"
·Eyes: Blue
·Hair: Reddish blonde

Norman Reedus
·Height: 5'10"
·Eyes: Blue
·Hair: Brown

Kurt Russell as Captain George Stacy

(56 years in 2007) Some years ago I used to dislike Kurt but after watching the awesome Escape from New York he started to grow on me. Even if this role isn't really big I think he would have made it memorable.

Captain George Stacy
·Height: 6'3"
·Eyes: Blue
·Hair: Reddish blonde

Kurt Russell
·Height: 5'10"
·Eyes: Blue
·Hair: Brown

@axelbratoski nice to see you again.

Cast is brilliant, only choice which I don't like is Doc OC, others are perfect.

Check up my FAN CAST: The Avengers by 789.

This is awesome, the cast on a whole are all pretty exellent but Dennis Farina as Jonah is one of the most original and clearly perfect ideas i've heard in a long time.

This is really, really good! I love Anne Hathaway for Mary Jane! That is a fantastic choice. The only one I may disagree on is Ryan Gosling, and that's only because I have never been a huge fan of his. Great work!

Cool man, I thought Raimi's casting was pretty near spot on an perfect for the movies... Cept VENOM, never liked that pick from the guy from the 70's show, c'mon! :p

Awesome Venom pick btw, hey like 'em all, heck u could have them all in a Spidey film now and they'd all gell well bar MJ as shes a lot older now, but cool pick for back then b4 her Catwoman days!

Yeah SPIDEY 3 was a pile of DOO DOO agreed!

Did like their Sandman though, top-notch as is yours - Btw fav's are deff Connors and Gwen u got there, awesome!

Nice stuff. I've always been a fan of Elijah Wood as Peter (and I'm still wanting to see it, even now...well, kind of), and I'm lovin' your Uncle Ben, Captain Stacy, and J. Jonah Jameson picks. Perhaps the ones I least like are your Mary Jane, and the Osborns (although for the latter, it's more because I think Defoe and Franco worked REALLY well as father and son), but they surely can still work. Overall, a great job, as usual!

Awesome cast man, I thought back in the day Elijah would be Pete after he played him (kinda) in the faculty. Bullied quiet kid in school, school paper photographer, becomes a hero & saves the town & he had some nice witty banter with Jordana Bruster. His height would've worked as any other character in costume would've looked mor imposing.

Also I've always seen the dril seargant from Full Metal jacket as Jonah. He had the look, the insults & his turn in Evil Women with Biggs & Jack Black just xemented it for me.

Really like this cast; my favourites have to be Hathaway as MJ and Harris as Osborn

Im big fan of Elijah Wood too, but I like him doing roles more akin to his work in 'Sin City' so would prefer him as Nightcrawler, so personally would go for Jake Gyllenhaal as Pete; not original but it works, especially as he more or less played a creepier/quirky version of the character in 'Donnie Darko'

Anyway, nice cast! Would love to see some more of your recasts!

Well, glad to see you return with something unique. Though I wish you went with ager's technique with a different plotline and more characters.

- Eh, I don't know, Elijah's not Spider-Man in my eyes. Plus I seen him cast a bit too much. If Adam Brody was popular back in '02, he would've been better cast.
- Anne Hathaway is gorgeous, she would've been aces as MJ.
- I'm not sure I've ever seen Ed play a psycho before.
- Ryan has yet to impress me with his acting before I could see him as Harry Osborn, then or now.
- I didn't have much of a problem with Cliff Robertson or Rosemary Harris as the aunt and uncle, but I see your point to why you cast younger. HailToTheKingBaby cast Bruce Boxleitner as Uncle Ben in his Web of Spider-Man cast last year.
- I too have seen Dennis Farina in the role of JJ.
- Alice Eve is a pretty unique pick for Gwen Stacy, I must admit.
- Funny how my pick for Kraven in my Spider-Man cast is your pick for Sandman in a vintage Spider-Man 3 fancast.
- I approve of Norman Reedus as Venom. Although after seeing ager's recent The Amazing Spider-Man sequels fancast, he'd be equally good as Electro.

The rest of the cast is good. And in case you haven't, you should check out some of my fancasts, because I haven't seen you leave one comment on some of them.

- Deadpool
- Spider-Man
- Titan AE
- Guardians of the Galaxy

1st, thank u for the acknowledgement

RoadDogXXIV@

Thank YOU also

axelbratoski@

- I like Wood, i actually think hes a far better actor than my Ramiverse Spidey, JHL, but is less like Parker to me than is JGL. but an awesome actor nonetheless and for that reason, he's a good pick
- A strong MJ but WOW what a pick for Norman Osborne, just brilliant
- Gosling is tons better than Franco, but I dont think Harry should be played that cool.
- Outstanding Aunt May, i really love that pick
Farina would be "Get Shorty" funny as JJJ
- JDM and Reedus as Sandman and Venom are great ideas. im a fan of Reedus in just about any role tho,
- the others, im not thrilled about but the core for a great movie here is undeniable

Recasting J.K. Simmos as J. Jonah Jameson? Nice try lol.

Cool cast I like most of your picks. I am not to fond of Norman Reedus as Eddie Brock though and I love Norman Reedus I just don't see him as Venom. He is more of an Electro or Shocker type.
