Let me just start off by saying that this will not be a direct remake of the old movies. The movie series will be in chronological order, starting from number one. I would only trust one director to do this and not tarnish the old ones, but I will get into that later.
The one and only reason that I am writing this article is that the original movies were incredible for what they were, but what my point is is that if those same movies were made currently, they could have been so much better.
What I would like to see in this movie is basically just more badassness and more layered and in depth characters.
Director - JJ Abrams
or
Neill Blomkamp (Director of District 9)
ACTORS:
Qui Gon Jinn - Viggo Mortensen
He definitely has the acting range to pull off a wise father figure, but also a badass jedi.
Obi Wan Kenobi - James McAvoy
I got this casting from another fan cast and thought it was perfect. He definitely looks the part and can pull it off emotionally as well.
Padme Amidala - Kate Beckinsale
My problem with Natalie Portman's Amidala was that whenever she was in a scene with Hayden Christiensen, they looked like they were the same age. Since Padme is supposed to be older, I went with Kate. She is a full 10 years older than my Anakin pick.
Young Anakin Skywalker - Dakota Goyo
This kid was great in Real Steel and is a good actor. All he needs is some brown hair dye.
Older Anakin Skywalker - Jared Padalecki
To me he kind of resembles Goyo and from what I've seen of Supernatural, is a pretty good actor.
Yoda - Mark Hamill + motion capture CGI.
I believe Hamill would pull off a great Yoda, but not full out using the Frank Oz voice.
Mace Windu - Jamie Foxx
The guy is a badass and a great actor, what can I say?
Darth Maul - Eric Bana
He was great as the villain in Star Trek.
Chancellor Palpatine/Darth Sidious - Hugo Weaving
He definitely can play a great psychotic villain, and that is the type of Sidious I think there should be.
