Guillermo Del Toro Is NOT Directing Godzilla

Recently Latino Review reported that he was offered the chance to direct the new Godzilla reboot. However, according to HitFix, Del Toro says that's not exactly true.

"What rumor?"

That was Del Toros first reaction according to Drew McWeeny, over at HitFix. He reports he caught up with Director Guillermo Del Toro and asked him about recent rumors that he's been tapped to helm Legendary Pictures new Godzilla reboot. As reported yesterday by Latino Review.

This is what the director had to say, once the rumor was explained to him.

"I am not involved in 'Godzilla' at all," Guillermo replied "I haven't read it or plan to read it. Nor have I been approached to direct it."

Drew goes on to say.

That sounds pretty definitive to me. I've known Guilermo a long time, and he's not the sort of guy to shy away from geeking out about this or that potential project. He's a big monster fan, and I'm sure if he was thinking about taking on the King of the Monsters, he'd be happy to share some of that enthusiasm.

DLM: Sounds pretty definitive to me too. Follow the link for the full story and let us know what you guys think of the recent developments.

WHAT THE NEW GODZILLA WILL LOOK LIKE, LOOKS LIKE THEYRE GONNA TRY TO PLEASE THE FANS RATHER MAKING ANOTHER JURASSIC PARK RIP OFF...

Back in March, Legendary Pictures announced that it acquired rights to "Godzilla" and has began developing a new movie based on the character. The plan is to have the film ready by 2012.

Now at the San Diego Comic-Con, the studio is giving out t-shirts with a look at what the new Godzilla will look like. When fans look at the image through a webcam, they will see "atomic breath" come of out Godzilla's mouth.

"Godzilla is one of the world's most powerful pop culture icons, and we at Legendary are thrilled to be able to create a modern epic based on this long-loved Toho franchise," Legendary CEO Thomas Tull previously stated. "Our plans are to produce the Godzilla that we, as fans, would want to see. We intend to do justice to those essential elements that have allowed this character to remain as pop-culturally relevant for as long as it has."

Believe it or not, there are actually people on this planet that enjoyed that 90s Zilla movie. Wonders never cease.

Anyway, Zilla vs Lizard Vs Croc in 2012, you heard it here first!

GODZILLA 98'....

DRY HUMPING A BUILDING...

ALMOST STEPPING ON BAMBI...UR I MEAN WHATS HIS FACE...

CUT AND PASTED FROM RETROJUNK.COM..

1. Godzilla 98 isn't as big as his Japanese counterpart.

2. There are two characters that are meant to resemble film critics Siskel and Ebert...believe me, it's not funny.

3. If you've seen the last 15 minutes of The Lost World: Jurassic Park, you've seen a better rampage scene that any featured in the entire movie.

4. Godzilla 98 is a hemaphrodite capable of impregnating himself.

5. Matthew Broderick uses a bunch of home pregnancy test to find out the creature is preggers.

6. Mini-Godzilla 98's chase the main characters in a ho-hum knock off of the more popular Velicoraptor chases found in Jurassic Park.

7. Godzilla 98 and Matthew Broderick share a tender moment; seriously, I thought they were going to make-out.

8. The dialog in this movie makes babies punch themselves repeatedly.

Over 5 years ago I saw a documentary about box office disaster movies (if anyone knows the name of it please let me know) and they mentioned Godzilla 98, and what was funny is that when the studio executives saw the movie at a private screening months before the release, they all unanimously knew they had a box office bomb in their hands...lmao

Interesting. I just hope that this film doesn't take too long to start. Bring on Gigan as the villain.
