GODZILLA Trailer With Footage From GOJIRA (1954)

Godzilla (ゴジラ Gojira?) is a 1954 Japanese science fiction kaiju film produced by Toho, directed by Ishirō Honda, and featuring special effects by Eiji Tsuburaya. The film stars Akira Takarada, Momoko Kōchi, Akihiko Hirata, and Takashi Shimura. The plot tells the story of Godzilla, a giant monster mutated by nuclear radiation, who ravages Japan and brings back the horrors of World War II's nuclear devastation to the very nation that experienced it first-hand. It was the first of many kaiju films released in Japan, paving the way and setting the standard for future kaiju films, many of which feature Godzilla.

Imo I didn't like Pacific Rim that much. I felt it was really cheesy and I am a huge Kaiju fan. I guess it was all the over acting people did in the film.

Couldn't tell the cheap looking Gojira's apart. THAT's how much i hate that stupid design!
I keep saying this over and over, and people stupidly think i' trolling, but the 90s Godzilla was AWESOME in terms of design. He looked scary and very dinosaur like, instead of looking like a man in a fat suit.

@GetsugaTensho22 there's nothing scary about a mutated iguana that runs away from the military and can be killed from two missiles to the neck and left side.

And people generally hated GINO/98's Zilla because it wasn't Godzilla, and you know you royally [frick]ed up when millions of people from the icon's homeland leave the theater early on upon seeing the creature's full look.

The 1998 Godzilla was only made because Roland Emmerich wanted to rip off Jurassic Park.

CaptainObvious - "The 1998 Godzilla was only made because Roland Emmerich wanted to rip off Jurassic Park."

A little girl leaving the theater said basically the same thing to her father when I saw the TriStar film. It was SO obvious, they couldn't even fool a little girl. That's why you're called Captain Obvious!

That looks awesome. I didn't think a movie trailer with a man in a rubber suit would look just as terrifying as the trailer today.

Let's not forget.
Pacific Rim's appeal exists because of Godzilla in the first place.
Or before that, King Kong in 1933.

I enjoyed Pacific Rim, probably because I didn't go into it expecting high art. Just art that you could enjoy while high:)
