Disney took Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book and provided a very different - albeit, now iconic - take on the novel. Andy Serkis is looking to shake things up, though, because it's clear from this first full-length trailer for Mowgli that we're getting a much more grounded, darker take on these characters.
The movie features live-action performances from Rohan Chand, Matthew Rhys and Freida Pinto, while Andy Serkis, Christian Bale, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hollander, Peter Mullan, Naomie Harris, Eddie Marsan, Jack Reynor, and Cate Blanchett will all be playing motion-capture animals.
That's arguably an even more impressive cast than Jon Favreau's version in 2016, but it remains to be seen if moviegoers are interested in watching Mowgli so soon after the success of Disney's live-action movie led to the filmmaker being chosen to take the helm of a new take on The Lion King.

The story follows the upbringing of the human child Mowgli, raised by a wolf pack in the jungles of India. As he learns the often harsh rules of the jungle, under the tutelage of a bear named Baloo and a panther named Bagheera, Mowgli becomes accepted by the animals of the jungle as one of their own. All but one: the fearsome tiger Shere Khan. But there may be greater dangers lurking in the jungle, as Mowgli comes face to face with his human origins.
