Will This Fan Favourite Wizard Be In The New HARRY POTTER Spinoff?

FANTASTIC BEASTS stars Dan Fogler and Alison Sudol hinted at characters from the HARRY POTTER series making appearances in the new spin-off, with one famous wizard in particular heavily hinted at.

In a recent interview with MTV, Dan Fogler and Alison Sudol spoke about their upcoming film set in the Potterverse. When asked about references to Albus Dumbledore made it the trailer, Fogler seems to have hinted at a younger version of the character returning to the screen:

“As the stories go along, you will hear mention of your favourite characters, and you may meet their young counterparts along the way.”

Dumbledore was played by Richard Harris in the first two films, until he sadly passed away in 2002 and was replaced by Sir Michael Gambon.

Given the timeline of the new film, it will be unlikely we will be seeing Gambon reprise the role, although anyone who has seen Ant-Man knows that if CGI can be used to make Michael Douglas look 40 again, then just about anything is possible with today’s de-ageing technology.

The thing I like about this new trilogy is the opportunity to see more of the wizarding world, since we've only seen Great Britain in the original series. If the new trilogy is about Newt traveling the whole world while studying the magical creatures, then I look forward to see it.

But if the whole story is going to be set in New York, then... eh. I'm not very interested.

Man I missed Richard Harris in the later movies. He had such an awesome presence in the first 2 films. Not something that could be duplicated by anyone in my opinion.

I can't believe they got Eddie Redmayne for this series. Dude is seriously talented and going to be miles above what you got from any of the kids in the first set of movies.

That being said the biggest miss of this series is the fact that they will never be able to use Rickman as Snape again. I would watch a whole movie on him but only with Rickman taking the reigns...

Isn't this set in the 1920s or something? Only asking because I'm fairly sure Dumbledore is a couple of hundred years old by the time of the Harry Potter movies, meaning they could slightly de-age him with CGI and it would make sense.

@AC1 - Just checked, his date of birth in the books is 1881 (according to the Harry Potter wikia), meaning he'd be in his 40s during the events of this film... so maybe they could get away with it?
