Award-winning British stage and screen actress Helen McCrory has sadly passed away at the age of 52.
McCrory's husband, actor Damian Lewis, confirmed the news on Twitter, revealing that his wife "died peacefully at home after a heroic battle with cancer."
“She died as she lived. Fearlessly. God we love her and know how lucky we are to have had her in our lives. She blazed so brightly. Go now, Little One, into the air, and thank you,” he added.
McCrory starred in numerous films and TV shows over the years, but is arguably best known for playing Polly Gray in The BBC's Brummie gangster drama series Peaky Blinders. She also appeared in the likes of Penny Dreadful, Fearless, Skyfall, The Queen, and played Narcissa Malfoy in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
More recently, she voiced Lord Asriel’s dæmon Stelmaria in His Dark Materials, and played PM Dawn Ellison in political drama Roadkill alongside Hugh Laurie.
