Hey folks. Just a few words about the film. Its inspired by Delirium's search for her dog Barnabas in the final volume of Sandman, The Kindly Ones. Its not a direct adaptation of those sequences, as characters appear in this that do not in the comic, its also much more surreal..basically, anyone not familiar with the characters won't really get what they are on about! And even those that are might find it a bit out there! Music videos eh?;) Anyway, hope you enjoy.

I've never actually read Sandman so obviously know nothing about it but this was compelling viewing and very well made! Great work ROR! :)

Bladeshad, its actually shot on a hi-def Z1 camera on 16:9! The youtube conversion is a bitch. Also, I agree about evening shooting but I was limited by time and as much as I would have loved to make it longer, I was confined by the length of the song. Maybe i'll do something else with the same characters. Anyway, glad you liked it and thanks for the input:)

your friend did an excellent job as Delirium
the hair and the black/white/red effects really made me feel like I was watching the character come to life
the Destiny character is holding the book kinda strangely but other than that I really enjoyed it
I am a huge sandman fan and am just now re-reading the 7th volume where Delirium is beginning her search for Destruction
it was interesting to see her come to life

well written and well acted, nice job :)

Very Cool Ror! I can totally appreciate the hard work and ALL the planning you had to do to create this short video. So thats what it looks like in Dublin, black and white, and chicks have ruby red lips. I'm on my way!

About time someone did a Sandman film.

Not sure about the song choice, but i think it works with the style you went with, i like the old silent movie feel.

Great job man, I don't usually like Sandman films; they always seem to take themselves to seriously and that just seems like the opposite of what a fan film should be. Yours on the other hand was really light and fun, so it was great. I really liked the limited color pallet, especially the yellow trees in the beginning. it was artsy without being too artsy if you know what I mean.

Do you mind if I share this with a friend? She loves both Waits and sandman so she'd go crazy over this!

Man, I have to admit I usually hate shorts like this. They are usually a jumbled mess that either come out like the filmakers were on crack or intentionally trying to be artsy.

This not only does neither but it's sort of mesmerizing. I have watched it multiple times already and I know I will watch it again.

Once again, very well done.

Also, it was kind of cool.


PS. I was lucky enough to see Waits in concert in 2008. It was awesome.

Well Sandman's my favorite series and Brief Lives was my favorite story arc because of Delerium. It was a pretty good homage to the series. I thought the camera work and the overall feel of the video were great.

Ror for Sandman director!!! lol

I love the Sandman series so much!!!! Unfortunately I have yet to read the one that your film is based on, but its on my to-do list.
