Let's cut to the chase: I thought it was really good and a true adaptation to Ghost Rider, ya things changed for the movie but it's way better than the shit job first movie.

Don't believe the critics: Yea, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance isn't another James Cameron's Avatar but did you honestly expect it to? Yea the story is weak and comic bookie but other than that the acting is great, visual effects were good as always and Neveldine/Taylor strike again. Now they don't have a bad movie. I honestly didn't know whether I would like it or not as the weekend came but the movie is better than said and showed, I will honestly be disappointed if they don't come out with a third and make it a trilogy. Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance makes up for the first enough to where a reboot isn't necessary, I know it won't make alot in the box office due to alot of people for some reason not liking Nicolas Cage, when Nicolas Cage is one of the best and more successful actors as well as being in 60+ films. The Ghost Rider is inhuman this time and is brilliantly portrayed, Nicolas Cage does some great acting as well as the rest of the cast including the over looked Johnny Whitworth. The visuals are great, the 3-D is ok but doesn't shine until the end of the movie. I feel it's gonna be an over looked superhero film, it's not the 2003 hulk, or catwoman and is certainly not 2012's Green Lantern. Also
Mark Nevledine and Brian Taylor really shine as directors in this film, I don't think this film is anywhere near as good as Spider-Man or Captain America, but it proves that some sequels out do their predecessors. I feel it's Marvel's Dark Knight in some sense but that's just me. I'm one of those rare people that's gonna recommend this to you. It's not The Dark Knight but it's not Catwoman, It's not X-Men First Class but it's not it's predecessor. 8/10

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!! I wasn't expecting MACBETH, but the story doesn't resolve anything for BLAZE, He agrees to help retrieve the Boy (Danny) that Rourke (the Devil) is after, because he is promised that his curse will be lifted, which it is, and in an awfully plain way I must add. After that he still stays involved? Why? what the Hell does he think he can do, and why does he care about this boy and his Mother, he just met them like a day ago, then Danny discovers he has the powers of the Devil, which apparently he had to be told this before he could use them, and does so by giving Blaze his curse back to defeat Rourke, w/o even asking, so it's not like Blaze sacrifices his humanity for the greater good, it's just thrust back upon him with some changes. If the kid has the powers of the Devil, why doesn't he defeat the bad guys himself, why would he give Blaze back the one thing he spent the entire movie stating he does not want? Then Blaze is OK with it because now apparently he can feel the angel ZARATHOS, the Rider once was, upon him? Granted now he has more control over it and can change day or night and has some kinda healing/resurrection gift, but in the end he's only slightly better off than when he started. I wish the kid had turned all the power back on the Devil to send him to Hell, fighting fire with fire, and kept the Ghost Rider curse for himself, since he seems to like THE RIDER, and in another movie he is played by a teen actor and takes over for Blaze, which would have been a more satisfying resolution. Then they could be preparing for a MIDNIGHT SONS film:)

Like your review, but I'm just not a big fan of the movie. It has nothing to do with Nic Cage being in it. I didn't like the story, pacing or acting. Cage's over-the-top Johnny Blaze actually drove me a bit crazy. The only good things about this movie, imo, were the special effects, which were amazing, Ghost Rider himself, who looked awesome and was very menacing and creepy, and the action scenes were great. I didn't, however, like Ghost Rider trying to walk like a cobra. It was too campy. Other than that, I say that if they would have just put every single action scene in it's full, online, then SOV would have been better. The story and acting were bad enough that we didn't need those scenes. Good read tho, man. Cheers!
