G.I. JOE: RETALIATION

Dwayne Johnson, Adrianne Palicki and D.J. Cotrona give interviews to ET's Christina McLarty with snippets of footage for the upcoming movie. A movie that has to be darn good if it has any chance to erase the previous atrocity directed by Stephen Sommers. The are off to a great start with even better cast then the last film, by holding on to key actors, while replenishing the Joe's with star power like The Rock and Bruce Willis.

"He's a BAMF," Johnson says about his character Roadblock in the film. "Roadblock is a BAMF -- a bad a** mother f*****," he jokes.

Johnson also talks about his close working relationship with action legend Bruce Willis, who plays Joe Colton in the film, the creator of the G.I. Joes.

"Bruce is the man," he reveals. "We've been buddies for some time now. ... He's iconic in our business on many levels."

But just how close are these two action studs?

"He held my legs, I was doing sit-ups," he jokes about the two working out together. "Well, we compare many things -- we compare our love for Haiku poetry, we compare our voices because he can sing, I can sing ..."

like one of those mindless, 2 hour action films you can just sit back and enjoy.
It's not gonna win an Oscar, but who cares?

Now THAT looks like a GI Joe film. First one was more of some futuristic army film, this will blow the original out of the water.

Is this some sort of reboot or something? I sure hope Channing Tatum isn't in it because he is an actor I can't stand. I hope Marlon Wayans is gone too.

Judging from our first exclusive footage here we might want to reconsider the title of the movie. G.I. Joe Origins: Road Block.

Do my Cobra eyes deceive me, or is that a G.I. Joe Killer Whale Hover Craft parked behind Old Roadblock?

Please let Cobra Commander be more like the original cartoon version and not the abomination that they made him in the first film.

Hovercraft looks great, Ray Stevenson as Firefly looks like he will be true to the cartoon series minus the mask at this point and The Rock is the piece this movie needed. Although Bruce Willis helps, too.

I'm a little concerned about the what Adrianne had to say about playing Lady Jaye. This is a strong character that definetly fits into the world that she is in. In fact, she is looked up to by other Joes. We'll see how it plays out. She still seems a little young for this role, but so does D.J. Cortona. Hope they play out their romantic interests that we all know should be there.

I just hope that this movie at least somewhat resembles the classic '80s cartoon, not like the previous one, which was more properly labeled "generic paramilitary squad film #87".
