A BLUE DEVIL Movie Is Coming!....In ARROW At Least

In last night's episode of the CW show, eagle-eyed fans will have spotted a little Blue Devil Easter egg in the form of a movie banner on the side of a bus. Now Marc Guggenheim has Tweeted a proper look at that banner, which you can check out after the jump.

Although DC have announced plans to bring quite a diverse mix of their comic book characters to the screen in various forms, I think an actual real-life Blue Devil movie might be expecting a bit much! Still, at least the various denizens of the Arrow universe can look forward to seeing one in 3D this Summer.

If you're unfamiliar with the character, here's a breakdown from Wiki.

"Daniel Patrick Cassidy is a special effects wizard and stuntman hired to create and play the title character in the movie Blue Devil. To that end Cassidy creates a full-body costume with a hidden powered exoskeleton and built-in special-effects devices. When two of his co-stars accidentally free a demon named Nebiros, Cassidy uses his costume to drive the demon back, but not before being blasted with mystical energy. After the fight, Cassidy finds that the blast has permanently grafted the Blue Devil costume to his body. Cassidy quickly finds himself embroiled in repeated adventures and conflicts with supervillains, as his newfound status has turned him into a "weirdness magnet." After failing to find a way to remove his costume, Cassidy starts to enjoy his new lifestyle, and becomes more and more comfortable as a superhero, even accepting a place in the Justice League of America. He gains a sidekick of some sort, when Eddie Bloomberg, his former gofer and devoted fan, designs a suit similar to his own to adventure as the Kid Devil. Eventually, he moves into "The House of Weirdness" with Cain the Caretaker as his superintendent."

I'm not fan of Arrow but I do enjoy all the easter eggs. It's like with Arkham City. Clever easter eggs to DC's Universe everywhere.

This was a great catch. To top it off, Black Canary mentioned she used to bartend at the Oblivion Bar whie in college.

I so wish WB would show people like Blue Devil or the Pierce family Jefferson, Anissa and Jennifer.

That was a pretty good easter egg, it's a good acknowledgement for sure, I'm not even sure I can even fathom what next season of Arrow will bring...

Oblivion Bar? *looks it up*...Oh holy cow... Yep, I can't even fathom what next season will bring... or who for that matter...

MAC how are you not an Arrow fan? It's one of the best tv shows on right now.

Not cb shows. TV shows.

HAHA cool! I missed that easter egg last night! This is one of the many reasons to love Arrow! Than that power handshake between Slade and Ollie was great. I want to hear the hand crack on Ollie!

Blue Devil was a really fun comic back in the day!

@Ineed

I could elaborate but that would result in me getting a ton of backlash. I don't hate or think it's terrible. I'm indifferent to it.

The Oblivion Bar is where all magical beings hang out, and Blue Devil is the bouncer.

Great episode. Great Series. I glad this show can do its own thing and still be liked by many fans because they do their own thing great. Love Manu Bennet as Slade and Amell just gets better and better at making Oliver Queen his own in the role. One of the best shows on tv that just does it right in intertwining story lines and characters so well. Keep up the great work Team Arrow.

I mean, it kinda makes sense right? In the comics, BD was a stuntman who went to hell. What if that happens in Season 3?

@Arrowhead

I'm only a DC fan in my... head stories? No idea what that means... then again the same people who proclaim I'm a sleeper Marvel agent are the same people who normally say borderline retarded shit.

People really take the word "indifferent" the wrong they don't they? This show's actual interwoven storyline intrigues me but other than that I keep up to date with it given all the DCU links and watch it whenever the fans go ballistic over a certain episode (like the most recent one). So indifferent. Doesn't mean I dislike it at all.

Sue me.

You're not alone, MAC. I want to like Arrow, I really do. But Oliver is the weak link. I just don't give a shit what happens to him. He has zero charisma. I don't care about his family, his love life, or the damn city for that matter. When/if he becomes the real Ollie I love from comics (pre-Nu 52), maybe my feelings for the show will change.

Ahh, for a moment I thought 1to10 created a fourth account on here to run alongside his three others right now. And yes, I am more negative than positive but if we're being honest, nobody pays any attention to when you're positive. People only make a fuss of negativity because it causes a stir.

@RexDart

I don't know... I have no dislike or disdain for Arrow, it's only when I see DC fans rave about some episodes (like the recent Clock King one) and then I go watch it, I don't exactly feel much.

That'd be cool if he showed up or something. I thought the Blue Devil and Black Lightning run a while back was pretty cool (although I believe BD's origin was a little different in the new 52)

No, I only said that people, and this applies for everyone, won't take notice of positivity.
