Minor Details On What To Expect From The Island Flashbacks In Season Two Of ARROW

Despite what many fans expected, the first season of Arrow only revealed a very small amount of what exactly happened to Oliver Queen on the island during the five years he was trapped there. So, what's coming up in season two? Hit the jump to find out!

A lot happened to Oliver Queen during his time on the island known as Purgatory, but the first season of the CW series barely covered six months of the five years he was missing from Starling City. So, what should we expect to see when Arrow returns this Fall? The Comic-Con trailer showed Ollie training with Slade Wilson, but now TV Line have offered up another minor piece of information. "If you ever wondered how Oliver’s island existence, seen in flashback, could have been any worse, here’s a short answer for you: pirates." What do you guys think this could mean? Are there any DC characters in particular they could introduce as one of these pirates? Be sure to sound off with your thoughts and theories in the usual place.

The flashbacks are good but completely devoid of tension whenever Ollies life is in danger as we know he's going to be fine. Hopefully they'll surround him with other characters to make it unpredictable.

kinda thought that might be just a season 1 thing but ya he was there for 5 years

I originally figured the island story would be wrapped up by the end of season 1, so does this mean this show will have to at least make it to Season 5 to show what his final year on the Island went like? I'm really hoping it will last a long time, it's one of the few TV shows I really enjoy, and there's plenty of DC mythology to draw from.

The danger Ollie is in on the island isn't about whether he lives or dies but how he survives and the various sacrifices he makes, the trauma he endures, and how that all breaks down who he used to be and turns him into the Ollie we know in the present. It's the journey, not the destination.

The showrunners said as much. They have a five year plan in mind and at the end of Sseason 5, we'd actually see the events that directly lead to him getting off the island.

I want them to explain how, while on the island, Oliver gained a high ranking position in the Russian mob.

@Jhuntdaprodigy, Arrow had the highest ratings for The CW last season, they're never canceling this show :)

Really love Arrow. great show.

For those haters out there who claims Amell can't act worth crap go back and watch the pilot episode. The scene where is he is talking to Laurel lance at his homecoming party. Just watch the conflict in his face when he decides that he has to lie to her when he really wants to tell her what he is doing. Just in those few seconds we see a range of emotions.
