The movie has had nothing but bad reviews. I just watched it and my personal take was not that bad. It was a first film in what we all know will be at least a trilogy. As of late we have gotten used to good comic book movies (x-men) becoming great comic book movies (x-men:first class). It was not what we all wanted (a film with hal vs. sinestro)but it was a good set up movie. I just do not see all the negative reviews and crying about it. It was a good comic book movie not great but well worth a watch at home or at theater

It really wasn't that bad. Critics liked Thor better but to me it was the same. Thor had love scenes so did green lantern. Hal Jordan was on earth more then Oa, Thor was on earth more then Asgard. Fight scenes didn't last long in green lantern, fight scenes didn't last long in Thor. I think critics felt that if they liked too many superhero movies they would lose their credibility.

Academically, 'Film Studies' classes would tear this film apart. For class I'd give it an F. I walked in the theater to be entertained as anyone would hope it to be. My experience, personally, was very good. Personally giving my film experience an A. A Green Lantern was there, he created constructs, he had a conflict with Sinestro, the action scenes in space were very cool. Of course, this may not be THE "Green Lantern" you'd hope to see. Many fans come in with expectations and judge the film off that. I judge it as a film, not a CBM.

Hey guys. I saw Green Lantern and it's
AMAZING!

And if green lantern are victim of a
INDUSTRIAL BOYCOTT by part of the critic
audience. They trying to [frick] this film since november 2010.

Something like: " NO MATTER HOW MUCH THE FILM BE
GOOD, WE WILL MAKE IT LOOKS HORIBLE to
PROVE WE ARE RIGHT!"

And the rest of people comes in the negative hipe. Would the Haters wins?

You need to think that the green lantern take a bite in very powerfull agents in 2010..this could be a influence match. A revenge.

No way in hell this filme could be THAT HORRIBLE.

It´s a lot better than a lot of shit that the industry make us watch over the last years!

It´s better than wolverine. Better than all the hulks and fantastic fours...

In the worse case is equal of ironman 2.

C´mon!

Sigh. The ultimate denialists.

- RT critics score 25%
- RT viewers score 65% (on it's opening weekend) and dropping.
- IMDB viewer rating 6.3/10 (again on it's opening weekend).

The reason why I emphasize 'on it's opening weekend' is that these scores start much higher than they end up because deluded fans and studio plants rush to give them good scores.

This movie has had some critics begging people not to see it.

The good reviews have been rated fresh because they say it's a great movie for 12 year olds.

The criticisms have been numerous and consistent.

You are only embarrassing yourself by trying to embrace it; let it die and disappear from the memory of all so that the MARVEL fanboys don't use it to justify laughing at you.

@MaestroMiller - I completely agree with you. I seen it, and Yeah I thought that they could've done alot more with it BUT They did what they did for a reason..

think.. they got all the back story, the love story and all that out of the way and now in the Sequel they will have something huge and spectacular.

This movie has been a sour topic among critics and fans since last year when they said they were going use a CG suit (which btw I thought looked fantastic. It looks awesome and it was better than just making a suit out of nothing and having it look like a professional made it... *cough Spiderman cough*)

But I actually enjoyed it!! I really did, I thought the way they made Hal progress through the film to conquer his own fears was awesome. And the way they showed Sinestro so over confidant he thought he could harness the power of Fear.

It angers me seeing all the negativity!

I myself am really looking forward to the next one! =)

7/10!
