Check Out A Description of Starlord's Ship The Milano

One hubpage blogger has posted a description of her short visit onto the set of Marvel's Guardians of The Galaxy in which she gives a description (which lacks in details) of Starlord's Milano.

Lucky Hubpages blogger Brandylyn was allowed onto the set of The Guardians of The Galaxy though she doesn't reveal anything new and revealing information most likely due to fear of the infamous Marvel snipers. On her blog she gives a description of Star-Lord's ship:

"...the life size structure was jaw dropping. The detail that went in to every inch of this ship is astounding.

"The version of the Milano we explored was strickly the interior of the ship. Lower level was the bunks and general storage and the upper deck was basically the cockpit. When inside the ship it was a completed interior in every way. Hopefully in the movie they show a good shot of Peters bunk because the small details they added with 80's references are awesome. "

She also speaks out about James Gunn's passion for The Guardians of The Galaxy saying, "What I do have to say is sitting back and watching James work is pretty fascinating. Clearly his passion for what he wants this movie to be is apparent and extraordinary."

Brandylyn even speaks about her brief impressions about the starS of the James Gunn filmed saying, "The few scenes I did see shot were exciting and I'm looking forward to seeing them intertwined in the completed movie. Of course Chris Pratt was basically born to play this role. Combined with his witty humor and down to earth attitude, he owns his Star Lord character as if the comic book was written with him in mind. My favorite person on set being Drax, aka Dave Batista. From what I witnessed, his make-up application process took the longest. I did offer to help keep him company during those 4 long hours and shockingly I was not kicked off set. Any WWE fan will know and understand what the hoopla with Dave Batista is all about. Not only is he solid and... well, hot, but his sweet disposition makes him all the more desirable. And one of the most striking women on set was of course Zoe. As beautiful in person as on screen, despite her green appearance on set. She goes from feisty and funny off set to walking on set serious and ready to kick ass. She’s pretty amazing to see in action (I may have a minor crush)."

Also in the parting message of her blog she gives her opinion on the shots she witnessed (an opinion that seems in line with everyone involved with the film) saying, "With James at the helm I can only think he will have us all flocking to the theater. As noted before, from just the small scenes and sets I got to experience, this movie is going to be a fan pleaser."

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand - with the galaxy’s fate in the balance. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is presented by Marvel Studios and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Commander Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector. Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film opens August 1, 2014.

Just saw (hear) the Pointless podcast of James Gunn and he's incredible.
I didn't know he loved the raccons so much before GotG. And he wanted to do Hit-monkey. That movie would be amazing, but it needs deadpool to work (and Spiderman maybe).

i really liked this podcast... the idea of it harkening back to 50s pulp scifi, him wanting to create a colorful but gritty world.... also man everyone ispraising the shit out of chris pratt and from the trailer it seems he has done it

here is the rest of the set report..

So we’ve all seen the trailer, if you haven’t then you must live under a rock, and you’ve heard the stars names thrown out there.. Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Batista.. blah blah. Look, they are great and more on them later. What I really want to give you is some insight on the people behind the scenes. Spending a few days on set we had the opportunity to explore a few sets and interact with so many people that really are imperative in making the movie what it is. Maybe they aren’t on camera looking sleek, seductive and green like Zoe but they are the ones that make Zoe look that beautiful shade of green every day. Both Zoe and Dave spending hours getting make up and/or prosthetics applied all over their body while Chris (Pratt) literally gets some powder and that messy (some say sexy) hair look. Ok, so Pratt needs a little more than that but you get the jest of it.

Wardrobe

One of the most amazing experiences was having the opportunity to meet the creative people in costumes and wardrobe. One person we had the pleasure to spend time was Brigitta Fredlun. Brigitta showed us around the work room with various people sewing and creating masterpieces that may only be shown on camera for just a minute or two. It’s amazing to witness firsthand what goes in to creating each and every piece for every single person on camera. Items you may only see for seconds has been in planning for months. Hundreds of costumes, not only for the main characters but for all the extras. Considering this movie takes place in space we are talking aliens of all different sizes and appeal that they are fitting and creating for. Seeing the process laid out from concept to actual creation is fascinating. These costumes aren’t just bought randomly, every single detail is thought out meticulously; how the character moves, their attitude and demeanor and where they are from all plays in to what they wear on screen. I can’t speak for other movies but the thought behind how this will all come together is mind boggling.

The Milano

A rule when going on the Guardians set was no phones hence no photos. Of course wanting to protect any information from leaking around the net, however James Gunn himself did Tweet a few photos from later in production but I guess he gets a pass being the director and all. What I can say about what I witnessed is “Holy crap this movie is going to be awesome!” Although I will never be able to give it justice, we did get an opportunity to explore the Milano (Star Lords ship) and the life size structure was jaw dropping. The detail that went in to every inch of this ship is astounding. One flaw, in my opinion, is the grated floors which proved an interesting situation when I’m wearing a skirt standing on the grate with the crew working below me. We heard rumor from the crew that the most spectacular set was the prison and we had missed seeing that by just days. Considering what we did see, which was such a small portion; I can only imagine what wonderment the crew had created.

Who wouldn't want to be the director?

At one point I found myself sitting behind James and next to Jonathan Schwartz (Marvel associate producer). It’s not very often you get to nerd out with somebody from Marvel about their selections for prior roles on Marvel movies and why you may or may not agree with them (Sorry Edward Norton but Mark Ruffalo wins my vote for better Hulk). The question somehow came about as to what role I would want to take if given the choice to work on a movie to which I quickly replied “director”. This prompted James to turn around in his chair with a smirk, “Trust me, you don’t want to be director. You have to be a little off to be a director” Little does James know, I am more than a little off but who wants to argue with a director in their element..Me. "In that case I would be a great director" which just had James shaking his head and he turned his attention back to his many monitors. What I do have to say is sitting back and watching James work is pretty fascinating. Clearly his passion for what he wants this movie to be is apparent and extraordinary.

The stars..

I guess at this point I should mention the stars of the movie. I didn't get to see much of the filming of many of the actors. The few scenes I did see shot were exciting and I'm looking forward to seeing them intertwined in the completed movie. She goes from feisty and funny off set to walking on set serious and ready to kick ass. She’s pretty amazing to see in action (I may have a minor crush).

August can't come soon enough..

All in all the experience was pretty awe inspiring and I cannot wait to see the final product of what this amazing cast and crew has created. With James at the helm I can only think he will have us all flocking to the theater. As noted before, from just the small scenes and sets I got to experience, this movie is going to be a fan pleaser.

He was booed in Royal Rumble just like everyone else because the people wanted Daniel Bryan to win. I don't know why, I don't watch the WWE since it got completely lame.

I wonder if is film will take roots from Annihlation considering Age of Ultron comes right after... Honestly, I feel that if it doesn't link to Age of Ultron, this film has absolutely no place in Phase Two. I've felt that from the beginning, sure, but I'm trying to keep my hopes up.

@Kurne

I think it would be better if this movie didn't have links to Age of Ultron. This is the beginning of the Marvel Cosmic Universe. They should establish it without having it connect to what's going on with The Age of Ultron because the rest of the Marvel Universe wouldn't care about Ultron or The Avengers at this point in time. What they should do with this movie is introduce one of the Infinity Gems and maybe give some information on Thanos.

And they shouldn't go into Annihilation yet either because they need to have an established universe before getting into that.
NitPicker
NitPicker - 3/2/2014, 12:09 AM
@Kurne

And they need to let the Marvel Cosmic Universe be the Marvel Cosmic Universe. It will be stronger if it can survive without the heroes from Earth constantly popping up.
Bekss
Bekss - 3/2/2014, 12:22 AM
NitPicker

You're right. I don't think it will connect to AoU, but it will be important to Avengers 3, Thanos and all that.
And they need to be in A3, Thanos goes to earth and they don't follow him? Then they should be in their own, maybe a little cameo of a Thor's character

Looking forward to this movie,bet they'll hype it up one more time at Comic Con since it opens after the event. Seems like they got a bunch of good actors in this. Don't know much about Batista....yes,it's without a u,I know that much,lol....but he looks cool as Drax. But I think Rocket will be a big fave for many. Kinda wish it would open sooner than August though.
