Marvel Studios has shared a fun new trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, a brand new "family-thrill" roller-coaster that's set to open at Walt Disney World Resort on May 27.

The teaser sees the under-attack Nova Corps send out a distress signal to our favorite intergalactic A-holes, who are enjoying some down-time between missions. Star-Lord is fast asleep, so Rocket and Groot take it upon themselves to respond, setting a course for Xandar alongside a fleet of Starjumpers - a type of Xandarian spacecraft which will serve as the ride vehicles for the attraction.

Check out the trailer below, along with a new promo poster.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is a family-friendly coaster developed by Disney Imagineers just for this attraction. It’s a “story coaster” that will amaze guests as it rotates 360 degrees throughout the attraction so the focus is always on the action, and will also feature a reverse launch on a coaster, never before seen in Disney Parks. It is one of the longest enclosed coasters in the world, which means it lives up to and matches the enormous scale of adventures of the Guardians of the Galaxy films!

Do any of you plan on taking a trip to Disney World to test this new GOTG coaster out?

Still weird to put this in EPCOT, which also makes me wonder if we're gonna see more IP stuff in EPCOT

@bkmeijer1 - I guess it's not enough to just stuff your face in EPCOT and travel the world lol

@bkmeijer1 - Well considering that if I remember correctly the previous ride inside the Epcot globey-thing was sponsored by AT&T ("Spaceship Earth" or something?) and was about the most boring ride ever, this is a definite step up. It's been years since I've been there so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong :).

Yeah, Epcot is not usually the place for something like this. Also, that Rocket voice is god awful

Headed to Disney next week. Wished this was opening sooner. Man that Rocket voice work is bad though.

@BlackBeltJones - Have fun! I've unfortunately never been, for one reason or another, but it's in the cards for next year, before Mrs. FortWaba decides she wants to start having kids.

The Epcot Center was my least favorite out of the theme parks I visited at Disneyland.

@WruceBayne - Makes sense, since Epcot is at Disney World ... not Disneyland.

@WruceBayne - Disneyland is like a grape tomato, where Disney World is like a big ol' Beefsteak tomato...!

EPCOT was always my favorite park. The focus on science and innovation and world culture was something very different and special. I hate the Disney IP influx into this once unique place.

I’m afraid in a decade it will be hard to distinguish from Studios. I swear if they turn Spaceship Earth into Buzz Lightyears Galactic Golf Adventure I’ll cry my eyes out.

I wonder what age Groot will be in the Christmas special

I remain flummoxed as to why GOTG CR landed in Epcot and Tron in MK. I'd have swapped them. Tron is still IP, yes, but seems more Epcot-y ... and it's not like MK doesn't already have a PG-13 IP in it (POTC).

I would watch a full movie with Rocky and Groot as the leads. Rocky steals the thunder even in a trailer from a roaller coaster.

Great song choice, and also WOW Rocket's suit looks awesome! Wonder if these are indicative of their Christmas Special/Vol 3 looks or made specifically for the ride like that MCU Park Spider-Man suit
