Laura Haddock Comments On Playing Mama Quill In GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

Revealing an interesting, yet conventional, detail about the filming of her scene(s), Da Vinci's Demons actress Laura Haddock talks briefly about playing Star-Lord's mother in Guardians of the Galaxy

James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy may be Marvel's biggest and boldest exploration of their cosmic universe, but the upcoming space epic adventure will of course spend a minute or two on earth where we'll first meet Peter Quill, pre-Star-Lord,  as well as his mother Meredith Quill, who is played Laura Haddock. The English actress, who's probably the only actor to play two different roles within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, recently spoke with Assignment X about the filming for her brief, but piviotal scenes. Yes, that was amazing! said Haddock of Guardians of the Galaxy
I got to go up and work on that film with James Gunn, and he’s great to work with. He’s working on this huge sci-fi film and a lot of the time, he’s having to play scenes with actors who are working on a green screen, so they’re creating their own reality, I suppose. It’s pretty hard to do on a green screen, but it was rooted in truth and reality, and James made sure that myself and the other actor never met [prior to shooting], never saw each other. We didn’t get ready together, we got made up in different trucks, and the first time we ever saw each other was on camera, so the reaction was completely honest and real.

Though relatively unknowns were apparently cast as Meredith Quill's own mother, sister, and best friend in Guardians of the Galaxy, the actor that Laura Haddock refers to not meeting prior to filming is most likely Michael Rooker, who plays Yondu. Regarding his blue-skinned character's relationship with Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), Rooker revealed a while ago via production notes that [HIGHLIGHT SPOILER] “[Yondu] went to pick him up from Earth and for some reason he decided not to take him where he was meant to go and raised him himself. He made a connection with him, and Yondu now enjoys the fact that Quill has the courage to do his own thing.” [END SPOILER]. Unless there are some missing pieces, you could probably put two and two together, and gather what Laura Haddock's screen-time as Meredith Quill will establish. What do you think?

Sounds good. Should be an emotional scene, stuck in the middle of a beautifully goofy movie.

Perfect French Toast
Step 1: Mix 2 eggs with2 teaspoons of cinnamon, 1/2 a cup of milk, and 2 tablespoons of cream.

Step 2: Take out a large pan and turn the stove to medium. Put a small piece of butter in the pan until it is fully melted.

Step 3: Take out 3 pieces of bread (any kind) and but them in the mix.

Step 4: Place the pieces of bread in the pan. Wait until both sides of the bread are golden brown.

Step 5: Grab a plate, knife and fork with a glass of milk, and you are ready to serve.

She's gorgeous. Can't wait for this movie. I guess J'Son sent for Yondu to rescue Peter from the alien assasin.

Her death scene(because Pete's mom gets killed by aliens in the comics, and you can't have a hero with living parents) is gonna be awesome!

@kinghulk - Should be interesting. Also, was it ever confirmed that Nathan Fillion has a role in this movie? Because if so, I'm pretty sure you just hit the nail on the head

Oh yeah, she had a teeny part in Cap 1. This sets an important precedent; showing there's no reason Richard Armitage can't be Doctor Strange.

Stan Lee, on the other hand, is clearly the same character in every MCU movie.

She said she also had scenes with Chris Pratt. I wonder if that means time travel will be involved in this film
