From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team—the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.

Starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Benicio del Toro, Guardians of the Galaxy is out now! What did you guys think of the movie?

Not a big fan of the "Awesome Mixtape". Sounds great in the movie, though.

"Wahh. I'm tired of seeing coverage of this overrated movie. Too much hype. You're such a Marvelite, Josh. Now where is my TMNT content?"

My favorite shit to do is to sign the GF up for everything at the drug store. She gets hearing aid pamphlets, menopause mailers, skin disease medicine samples, boner pill information, wrinkle cream deals, a bunch of VD info and just a ton of crap now. hahahahahahahahahahahaha

This soundtrack is on level with Wayne's World 1. It introduced a bunch of old popular songs to a whole new generation of people. I honestly can't think of another Movie soundtrack quite like these two movies, guardians being the other, where old songs became "new" again and rose to great popularity a second time. Bohemian Rhapsody and Foxxy Lady immediately come to mind, and are similar to how "hooked on a feeling" just took off after the first trailer. Never even heard those songs before Wayne's world and now they are some of my favorites....

This movie was awesome though it's still probly the third best film this summer for me

1. Tie DOFP / winter soldier
3. Guardians
4. Apes
5. Lego movie
6. Spiderman 5 (these are getting redundant aren't they?)

Revised
6. TMNT (very fun movie but slight changes to origin story kinda irked me - I grew up with the originals)
7. Spiderman 5

There is little I love more than 70's Pop.
So for me, this is one of the finest movie-with-existing-songs as a soundtrack that's ever been produced.

HOWEVER . . .
I'll understand if everyone doesn't join me for my 58 time playing the CD.
I can't wait for Gunn and Marvel to put out one of those cheap stabs at capitalism, "Awesome Mix Tape 2: More music from the Guardians of the Galaxy!"
