New Set Pics from World War Z, Including Zombies

We've seen a few set images from World War Z, but they have been rather underwhelming; mostly images of star Brad Pitt on set. Now, we get our first look at how the zombies will look in the film.

If you are like me, then you have been rather intrigued by the progress of this film. I'm a sucker for anything zombie and Max Brooks' World War Z is among the top zombie stories out there. I've been very curious to see how this would play out on film and as expected, they have tweaked the story line to make it more of a suspense type film rather than a mock-u-mentary style that made the book so different from other things we've seen.

Up until now, the only images we've seen from this production is some rather lack luster set pics with a few of them featuring Brad Pitt milling around the set. Thanks to a reader of AICN, they have some new images and they feature not only images of Glascow, Scotland transformed into Philadelphia, but our first look at how the zombies may look for the film. Granted, these are just dummies, but you can tell they are going for a bit of a different look than we have seen in previous zombies fodder.

Anyways, take a look and bitch/praise them below!

World War Z stars Brad Pitt, Bryan Cranston, Matthew Fox and Mireille Enos and is being directed by Quantum of Solace helmer Marc Forster. It is set to hit theaters December of 2012.

People who think this is "just another zombie film", have no clue what they're talking about and know nothing of the source material.

However, from what i've read so far about this, it sounds like its being made into "just another zombie film." It sounds like they did away with the entire point of the book and turned it into a suspense film...which is a huge shame. WWZ is THE quintessential zombie story. Period.

I doubt Brad Pitt would do "just another zombie film." I read the book and heard the rumors that the movie isn't going to be a direct adaption. My faith in the project lies in Brad Pitt's choice to do it.

Is this film still going to be PG-13? If so then why make a zombie movie?

My lovely city of Glasgow. Been down most days to watch the filming. SWAT vans, army hummers, explosions and gunshots. Normal day in glasgow more or less.

I was actually down at the set; it was my friend's wedding in Glasgow. However I didn't really see very much. It was about six in the evening and the set was closed off.

At least this isn't getting the I Am Legend treatment.

I wonder who's brilliant idea it was to cast Will Smith for...

This guy:

Willem Dafoe would have been a much better choice, but only if they had gone with a true adaption of the graphic novel.

My bad, just an angry fanboys rant... Point is I hope this doesn't get sent to the butcher, like I Am Legend did. :(

The zombies need more decay. I hope they arent just red eyed like in 28 days.

I am sorry for the following geekness:P

@AwesomeJ: The people in 28 Days Later were not zombies. They were alive just infected with the rage virus. They all starved to death at the end of the film.

@CaptainTall: very true. Defoe would have made a great Dr.Nevil. Especially because in the orignal story, the doctor is the villain. In this remake, the only alluded to the fact he was hunting them. And only for the purpose of finding a cure.
