It's hard to find too many fans of Hulk, the 2003 movie which brought the character to life on the big screen for the first time in appalling fashion. Director Ang Lee made a lot of great films both before and after this one, but the superhero genre was clearly not one for him based on the end result, and the "Honest Trailers" team don't hold back when it comes to tearing Hulk apart.

There are a lot of funny observations here, and this trailer does a great job of reminding you just how bad Hulk was. Were you a fan of this movie or does the video below do an accurate job of remembering how terrible it really was? As always, share your thoughts in the usual place...

Never thought I'd fall asleep watching a Hulk movie, but somehow Ang Lee made that possible.

Look, the movie has a ton of problems, but it also did have really good aspects as well.

There is a sequence where Bruce Banner is Hulk for over 20 minutes straight, from Hulk out in the base, all the way to him reverting back in the streets of San Francisco...he is Hulk. Jumping, dodging bombs, battling choppers, fighting tanks, riding jets, etc

That is pretty impressive...and for 2003, the effects were as good as they possibly could have been. There are plenty of shots in the 2003 film where Hulk looks better than he does in The Incredible Hulk.

It is boring more than half of the time but at least they got the Banner/Hulk "relationship" right.

"You tolerated Edward Norton"

Umm ... no I really enjoyed his Bruce Banner, hell I prefer his Banner over Mark Ruffalo's.

Feige aditted in a recent interview that when he did x men and hulk, he wasn't as knowledgeable. He wasn't good back then haha. He was afraid he'd [frick] up x men after watching the first cut haha. Then it was fixed. He though he was killing his career

@ChrispyG - Yeah, when it was released VFX were considered excellent.

The movies problems are some of the scenes are virtually impossible to see. They are all in the dark. And it's tragedy heavy. Not a fun movie in a lot of aspects. It gives the weight to the movie though, Incredible Hulk lacked in that.

Besides that Hulk didn't look better in Incredible Hulk. Some of the facial animation even looked worse.

So, lets not pretend this is the worst movie ever. It's pretty damn solid.

Hulk honestly that much bad of a comic book movie for what it was back then. That ending scene right before the credits hs to on of mow mavorite comic book movie endings. The music, the suspense the rage. It was very entertaining form me. Thought hey drastically changed some things that even I laugh at now the relationship between Banner and his father was quite intriguing.

HULK < Incredible Hulk

Not even a contest, Liv Tyler's chemistry with Edward Norton alone makes that movie 50x better then "Hulk" movie.

Well I suppose it all depends on what you're looking for from a Hulk movie. If you just want SMASH, you've got it with TIH, but HULK aims higher as Chloefornication points out, and though it doesn't always hit (yes, some scenes... the dogs etc... are awful) it at least attempts to go a bit deeper. That's the stuff I personally find most interesting about the Banner/Hulk character(s)... but hey, in TIH he kicks Tim Roth through a tree so I guess that wins hands down.

Aside from Norton's boring ass take as Banner (thank goodness for Ruffalo), INCREDIBLE HULK was so much better than this piece of shit.

Hulk is a much more interesting flick than the reboot.
Better direction too, Ang Lee is one of the finest directors out there when Leterrier has yet to make a good film.
The Incredible Hulk was as cliché as it gets, a poor product, maybe that's why Marvel zombies like it so much.
SageMode

The problem with THE HULK is that it focused too much on the psychological aspect of the character. Yeah, delving into that aspect can make for a good film, but when it's the primary focus for 90% of the movie, it takes away from the fun side of seeing the Hulk cut loose as an "engine of destruction" that he known to be. It should be balanced.

A great Hulk movie should be one that's "deep" enough to make you care about the characters struggle and also have fun seeing him Smash shit evenly.
