Why James Badge Dale Passed On Superhero Movies Before IRON MAN 3

The actor reveals that though he was previously offered roles in other CBMs (he doesn't specify which), he turned them down, and only agreed to Iron Man 3 for very specific reasons. Find out what Dale had to say after the jump.

James Badge Dale seems poised and ready to hit the big time. Not only can he currently be seen as Guy Pearce's right hand man in Marvel's Iron Man 3, but he'll be following that up with roles in the likes of World War z and The Lone Ranger. Interestingly though, despite playing a character with super powers in Shane Black's threequel, the actor isn't a fan of "capes and codpieces", and actually passed on even auditioning for some other comic book based movies prior to agreeing to play Savin in Iron Man 3. Here's what he had to say to Movies.com when asked about jumping from smaller films to a major blockbuster.

"It's nice to finally be a part of a movie that the younger people in my family can actually go and see. I've got nieces and nephews who can finally see me in a movie. And it's just great to see it with a younger audience and hear people laughing or boo'ing at me in all the right places.

I've actually passed on even auditioning for almost every superhero movie I've been sent because I didn't think I could play someone in a suit. I don't want to be in a cape or wear a codpiece. So this was the absolute best of both worlds. I get to be in a superhero movie where my suit is actually just a regular suit."

I guess we can only expect to see Dale in any future CBMs with a no tights/capes clause then! Read the interview win full at the link below.
