The Golden Raspery Awards, or "The Razzies" are always a bit of fun. Every year they celebrate the very worst in film making. This year the nominations will be announced on January 26th but here are the shortlist of 12 films that could make the cut. There is only one true CBM(Jonah Hex) but many have spin off comics and have been covered here.

According to the Los Angeles Times Awards Tracker blog, the 12 finalists include 'Little Fockers,' 'Sex and the City 2,' 'The Expendables,' 'Grown Ups,' 'Clash of the Titans,' 'Killers,' 'The Bounty Hunter,' 'Yogi Bear,' 'Jonah Hex,' 'The Last Airbender,' 'Vampires Suck,' and 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.' There is also a new category this year: worst eye-gouging misuse of 3-D. Among those eligible films: Piranha 3D, The Nutcracker in 3D and Resident Evil: Afterlife. (No Clash?) Also, Mickey Rourke is expected to receive a worst supporting actor for both The Expendables and Iron Man 2! That I do find a bit strange since I thought he was great in IM2 and about the only good thing in The Expendables! But different strokes I guess.

I haven't seen all of the above movies but those I have I pretty much despised. What do you think of the shortlist?

IMO Mickey was good as Whiplash. It wasnt an Oscar performance but I dont think its a Razzie performance either.

This year, the event will be televised (for the first time ever), so I'm looking forward to that.

I though Little Fockers was a pretty good movie...
But the worst movie would have to go to Jonah Hex.

Sweet I thought there was something wrong with me for hating The Expendables....It was sad to see that all there acting had aged so horrible as well.

That Rourke stuff is ridiculous. He was very good in Iron Man 2. Really, everyone was. It was the script that was the problem. Expendables was everything it was advertised to be, and I for one loved it. I'm an old school action fan, though. I love all that crazy unrealistic stuff, so long as its done in the right tone. It's not a bad movie, its just a very specific kind of movie.

I like the razzies but sometimes they don't get it.

One: Mickey Rourke is great in both those movies, so that is absolutely asinine.

Two: The expendables was a popcorn action flick they never promise any more or any less. I think this is just bitter people being assholes. IMO

The Last Airbender gets my vote, it was laughable. Jonah Hex was just plain sad. Clash and little Fockers were good enough, don't know why their on the list.

Mickey Rourke's crying scene in The Expendables was one of the most hilarious things I saw on screen last year!

Mickey Rourke nominated for Worst Supporting Actor for The Expendables and Iron Man 2 which in both films he was great in? [frick] the Razzies

it should go for sex and the city 2, that crap! Otherwise JH

I don't know why everyone's getting so angry. The Razzies mainly pick on the big movies like Iron Man 2 'cos it draws in a larger audience.
Rourke was (arguably) the best thing in IM2, but I bet he'll still win Worst Supporting Actor 'cos it'll draw a crowd.
AC1
AC1 - 1/4/2011, 10:18 AM
how are half of you saying Jonah Hex, Clash, Killers, Fockers and Expendables should get worst film? SEX AND THE CITY 2 starring SJ'Horseface'P and those other 40something squeaky girls is the obvious winner (or loser) of that honour!
AC1
AC1 - 1/4/2011, 10:20 AM
And I agree, that Rourke stuff is so stupid!
The only films I've seen that were on the list are Iron Man and Twilight, and I only went to Twilight because of the hot girls!

I really don't understand why anyone who hated the Expendables went to see it. I was advertised as Commando raised to the power of 6 and that's what it was. Did you know you were going to hate it?
ironknight

If you went to see the Expendables expecting to see "great performances", I think you missed the point.
BobGarlen

dont agree bout them saying Rouke gave a bad performance. What should be up there in place of IM2,and the Expendables is Alice in Wonderland, Shrek 4, and Devil

The Razzies are lame. There are too many films that they give awards to that I quite enjoy. I watch films for entertainment. For instance: I watched "The Expendables" to be entertained by a lot of action......and ended up getting more than just the action because there was a little bit of substance in it as well.

@magic8 - can you contrast it to an actual old school 80's action flick that you wanted it to be like?

OMG, Mickey Rourke was good in Expendables??? Have you people lost your mind????? CaptainQuirk had it spot on when he said. Rourke's crying scene was laughable. It was a stupid popcorn movie and I liked it until that scene came and it killed my enjoyment for the rest of the film. That scene didn't belong in the Expendables and Rourke knew it, which is why his acting job was so horrible.

The Razzies were cool before they got some publicity. Now it's all about which star and big movie and they target and get some more of the spotlight. What a fvcking joke.
Akercocke

The Expendables was the worst piece of crap I've ever seen. There's a difference between enjoying bad acting/cool action scenes and not having the minimum criteria to realize when a sh*tty movie is a sh*tty movie.
