Karl Urban is doing his round of press for his upcoming movie 'Priest' and the folks over at Collider got the chance to sit down and chat with him where they discussed 'Priest', if he has plans to visit the set of 'The Hobbit', when he starts filming on 'Star Trek 2', and his thoughts on 'Dredd'.

Will you be visiting the set of The Hobbit in New Zealand just to say "hi":
"I live there so ya know. I'm really excited to see that movie, back at the helm. It's gonna be great."

Do you know when you'll start filming on 'Star Trek 2':
"I'm hearing that it's going to be September or November this year."

Do you think JJ Abrams will be back?
"I certainly hope so. He's a phenomenal director and we had such a great time working with him on the first one so I really hope so."

What can you tell fans about how Dredd turned out?
"We had a really good shoot and from what I've seen which is very little, I'm quietly pretty excited about it. John Wagner came out to the set, he was happy."

Even this one picture already makes this remake look 1000 times better than the original.

@ RyanLantern77 - is there anything wrong with that? He did a great job as both Eomer from Lotr and Dr McCoy from Star Trek so I say more "nerdy" movies for him

I've seen the concept art & set photos.
Dredd will never remove his mask. His lawmaker actually is a modified real gun. Not the toy that they had in the first movie. 1 scene has a huge chain gun. The bikes are armoured motor bikes. Not as huge as in the comics tho. His uniform is kinda like the Dark Knights.

i believe the great thing about it is that they made it more realistic but they keep the heart of what is Dredd is there. It's a reboot of a series. The company that did the effects is great at prophetics & props. Not to mention horror make up & gore. So there will be plenty of over the top violence for sure!

If he reckons John Wagner is happy with the Dredd film, I think that I, and many other Dredd-heads will be too.

High praise indeed. Bring it on.
