I don't there's any way this will be a hit. Stallone will always be associated with Dredd.

Huh, I guess this gives them A LOT of time for post-production. Good move I guess.

@TheIrishAvenger-I hope you are wrong but why are you so sure...how do you know? Please...share with us you're 1 thing!
@CapFan79-Stallone was the problem and now hes out. Karl Urban is a great underestimated talent that always brings it to his performances. I'm looking forward to this under-the-radar-flying property.

I have high hopes for this.

At least Karl Urban is a genuine fan of the source material and understands how important it is that Dredd's.face is never revealed.

This could well surprise an awful lot of people (and I'm praying that it will).

Have a little faith, people.

Well it's coming out the same year as The Avengers, The Amazing Spider-Man and The Dark Knight Rises and it's coming out after the summer movie season. And Judge Dredd isn't a name that will sell alot of tickets.

I have to agree with TheIrishAvenger, this movie will bomb...it will come and go just like how Punisher Warzone did. Dredd is only known to the hardcore comicbook fanboys, and to the over 25 general public it is only known as a shitty Stallone movie. I hope Im proven wrong.

I have no problem with a new Dredd movie... I just have a problem with how it looks... the first few shots looks like they pulled out of storage some sets from Robocop - especially with the way some of the vehicles look.

@gaikinger, Stallone wasn't the real problem - it was the way the story became action/comedy. Despite the stupid, yet practical armored codpiece, Stallone's Dredd got it right in the "looks" department at 90% in terms of set design, uniforms, and vehicles... Urban's helmet looks like it's a little too big... and the uniform.... hell, they should've asked the folks who're doing the Judge Minty fan film for costuming as it looks NOTHING like Dredd at all.

seriously... if a FAN MADE FILM can get the look and tone right, why can't the professionals studios???

No, no your not. Stallone's was shit. Urban is a great actor and will therefore do the character justice...

I still think Karl's head looks like it's swimming in that giant helmet, but other than that I have great hopes for this movie. Karl is awesome and a cool Judge Dredd movie would be badass, indeed.

I know I'm gonna get alot of shit for this but I actually liked the old Judge Dredd film. I mean it had its problems and glaring inaccuracies (just like any other comic book film). My only beefs wer Stallone taking off the helmet and Joan Chen's character dying...and I guess maybe the character Rob Schinider played. I'd still pay to see this film in theaters, but I hope 2000 AD releases some more TPBs of older Dredd storylines for the new film....

I love how so many people say this will bomb when they've only seen 2 pictures, and literally know nothing else about it.

i understand that the general audience only knows of Dredd as being an old cheesy Stallone movie, but the old Judge Dredd comics were hardcore and brutal, with an awesome main character.

This movie will live and die by its trailer. If the trailer looks awesome, then people will go see it. Period.
