While making an appearance at the 2010 Wonder Con, fan favorite comic author (and new DC executive) Geoff Johns had to delicately answer a few questions regarding the status of superhero movies promised by Warner Bros. head Alan Horn.
Johns explained to the crowd that his new role as CCO of DC Comics makes him
“in charge of the creative consistency of the DC Universe”. He also fortified the promise made by Warner Bros. head Alan Horn, by saying we're
“going to see a lot more DC Movies.”
When a fan asked if DC and Warner Bros. were planning on following the Marvel Studios trend that (individual superhero films leading up to
The Avengers) by releasing a Justice League of America live-action film, Johns responded nervously,
“Can’t talk about it yet, but we’ll talk in San Diego.”
By San Diego, Johns is referring to the 2010 San Diego Comic Con International, the largest comic convention in the world, which begins July 21st.
Johns also teased that we’ll
“see in the coming months how [the comics are] going to be better integrated” into the DC movie-verse, and that he is
“excited about it.”
Regarding the development of the
Flash film, Johns responded
“We’re developing it right now — 'The Flash' movie. Can’t say anything about it right now, I’m sorry.”
Geoff also responded to a question about the chances of seeing a
Wonder Woman live action movie:
“Look — Obviously, everyone at DC wants to see it, I would like to see it, but can’t talk about it right now.”

MPP - Though it seems like Johns didn't really say anything important in this Q & A at Wonder Con, the main thing is that these movies are now an actual possibility. Since his involvement as an executive at DC the ball is finally rolling on these projects that only used to garner a "No comment" from Warner Bros. As much as people think Chris Nolan is, Geoff Johns is really the DC equivalent to Marvel's Jon Favreau. He's the one that will make a unified DC movie-verse a reality.
