Gangster Squad director Ruben Fleischer may have just outed his pal Zack Snyder as the man who will step behind the camera to bring us DC's superhero team up flick, Justice League. Fleischer was rumored to be in the running some time agao, so Screen Crush decided to ask him about it when they spoke to him while he was out doing the rounds to promote the home release of Gangster Squad, and here's an excerpt from their report.
"We asked if he was still interested in directing ‘Justice League’ after his name was on the shortlist of directors last year. He said he’s definitely interested in directing a big superhero film but it wasn’t going to be ‘Justice League.’ And why not? Says Fleischer:
"Well that’s something that Zack Snyder is going to wind up doing."
Now he may just be referring to the previous rumor that linked Snyder to the job, or it might be an assumption based on the massive business
Man Of Steel is sure to do, but keep in mind that Fleischer worked with Will Beal -- the man who delivered a draft of the
Justice League script -- on
Gangster Squad so there’s a good chance he's privy to some inside information. Also, I can't imagine Fleisher commenting on this now based on a rumor he read online ages ago, so I think there might just be some truth to this. Of course even if there is it's unlikely anything will be confirmed anytime soon, but we shall see.
