JUSTICE LEAGUE Concept Art Reveals A Considerably Better Take On Steppenwolf

There's been a lot of debate about the quality of Steppenwolf's appearance in Justice League and a new piece of concept art reveals what is arguably a much cooler take on the monstrous DC Comics villain.

Steppenwolf will be the lead villain in Justice League but his appearance has been a point of contention among fans since day one. It's only recently that he's been fully revealed but it's fair to say that he doesn't look all that great and there's definitely room for improvement (unfortunately, it's too late now). However, some early concept art offers a significantly better take on the massive villain.

He still looks relatively similar to the version we're getting on the big screen later this week but his helmet and armour looks a little closer to the comic books and is just cooler in terms of appearance!

If Darkseid does indeed appear in Justice League, it will be interesting seeing if he looks any better than Steppenwolf or if the same sort of aesthetic has been used. Do you guys think this version of the villain is better than the one we're getting? As always, share your thoughts in the comments section below.

@Omega - It's just incomplete. It happens all the time with movie trailers. Just wait until the movie's released.

I think they should have humanized his face just a bit more and gave him the facial hair like in the comics.

Are there people actually complaining about the look of Steppenwolf who don't complain about the looks of Lex Luthor or Suicide Squad's Joker or The Flash? I think Steppenwolf looks pretty damned menacing and powerful. Like a boss demon warrior. What's the problem?

@ImmovableForce - his hands are oddly massive and his head in freakishly small... and then that shit on his chin is just....

"Better"?

Looks like a different design but in the same route as that which they ended up using.

He looks almost the same. I don't get the hate for Steppenwolf's look. Yeah, the CGI could be better but at least he looks like an alien instead of being another human villain; Zod, Ares, etc.

They were smart in casting Ciaran Hinds as Steppenwolf, that guy elevates anything he's in. I like the design but like most I would have preferred practical effects.
